Two friends and I visited the memorial on 06.17.24, booking the guided tour at 1.00 pm. A young boy accompanied us on the visit for about an hour. He was able to be engaging and highly professional. He was able to be very precise in the use of words and in the explanation of some difficult historical facts.
I highly recommend visiting this place. It is a bare, essential place; anyone who comes with the idea of finding objects or similar will be disappointed because this is not a museum but a memorial, a place to reflect and understand what the indifference of a society shaped by propaganda can lead to. The achievements to which we are blissfully accustomed today do not necessarily last forever. It's easy to find yourself on the wrong side without wanting to.

A stone's throw from Milan Centrale, entrance fee is 10 euros, you download the audio guide when you enter, you immediately hit the wall with INDIFFERENCE written on it, then the carriages, the routes, the wall with all the 700+ deportees, worth seeing

Unfortunately, not an entirely positive experience with an eighth grade class: uninvolving guide, both in tone and in the terminology used, not calibrated to the age of the children; in the video rooms the audio was impossible to enjoy, too low.
The spaces should be divided between a historical route to be followed in silence and areas for activities: you cannot expect 40 kids to be silent while they attach the dots on the world map, an activity designed to involve them in a group.
We need to pay attention to these things, given that it is a space designed above all for schools. Thank you

Hidden, in many years in Milan I had never noticed it and had never heard of it. Hidden, as it was then, at the time of the deportations. No one had to see, no one had to know. The visit, lasting about 1 hour, however, should be "mandatory" for everyone, in that short journey one of the ugliest and most inconceivable tragedies in history is retraced. Go there, go there, go there. To remember, to testify. And above all to prevent the same thing from happening again tomorrow... History. Compliments to the passion of the guides who accompany you on your visit. The visit can be booked online.

Today I was able to visit the Shoah memorial with a guide, a touching experience for what is told and handed down to those who did not live through that era. On January 27, 2013, on the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, the space hosting the visits was inaugurated. It can be visited on different days of the year and is also suitable for children.

This question has been the subject of much thought by the creators of the memorial - as it needs to be. After all, it’s not as if we’re remembering a pleasant day at the beach, in this case.
“Remembering is a healthy exercise”, writes Memorial Foundation President Ferruccio de Bortoli. “It opens hearts and minds, it allows us to look at the contemporary world with fewer prejudices and less ambiguity. Memory protects us from ideological pressures, from the waves of hate and suspicion. Memory is the cultural vaccine that makes us immune to the germs of anti-Semitism and racism.”
In order to achieve this purpose, events must be recalled in a certain way, according to their gravity - and from a certain perspective. This is why the place is described as “not a museum”. It does not aim to provide information “objectively”, or present the events as “in the past.” It presents them through first-person testimony, and attempts to recreate for visitors some aspects of the experience of the deportation.
It is a powerful place, for history that needs a powerful response today.

He had been planning to visit the memorial for a long time. We finally managed to go to Milan and book a guided group tour. A touching experience that should absolutely be done, good organization and a highly trained guide. Absolutely recommended!

Hi, I will arrive on Monday to the Milano Station by bus from Bérgamo Airport. Wanted to visit this memorial so want to know where's the entrance (my bus stop is on one side of the station (Piazza Luigi Savoia). Also if there's a problem carrying a small suitcase inside and how long it's the usual visit. Thanks!

Il Memoriale è aperto il lunedì dalle 9:30 alle 19:00, mentre dal martedì al giovedì dalle 9:30 alle 14:30, la prima domenica del mese dalle 9:30 alle 18:30.
Le consiglio di inviare una mail chiedendo se il giorno del suo arrivo è previsto un prolungamento d’orario. Il Memoriale è di fianco alla stazione e può raggiungerlo in pochi minuti

Carissima un’ottima idea. Il giorno migliore è il lunedì alle 18 ci sono visite guidate. Ma da qualche tempo il Memoriale può contare su una app gratuita che può essere scaricata dagli store IOS (Apple) e Android.
Cerchi Memoriale della Shoah di Milano.
La App è semplice, intuitiva e consente di avere una audioguida di alta qualità.
