My wife and I toured the lagoon with Venice Kayak on our honeymoon. We told our guide, Max, at the start that we were birders, and he did a great job of concentrating on that aspect of the experience without forgetting to include interesting stories about the human and natural history of the area.
Fortune was with us and we got to see a couple of Greater Flamingoes in the wild, as well as a host of other water fowl and a few predators.
Max was easy going and fun to be with, and took a lot of photos along the way. All in all, the tour was one of the highlights of our Venice vacation.

Jeg var på en 3 timers kanal tur sammen med min kone og voksne søn. Det var sæsonens sidste tur, men vejret var fantastisk. Turen opfyldte alle vores forventninger til at opleve Venedigs kanaler fra en kajak. Guiden var kompetent, vidende og meget flink. Vi kan kun give Venice Kayaks vores bedste anbefaling.
Turen blev flyttet en dag på grund af kraftig blæst, det blev vi informeret om i god tid.

What's an excellent experience! This is definitely our highlight in this trip. This is my fourth time visiting Venice. I joined this tour as my birthday challenge, I got completely different perspective and angles to explore all secret corners along canals. They provided everything to be well-equipped, wet bag, paddling shoe, jacket, kayak cover, drink water and also photo shooting. I would try again with my kids in next visit,

I always feel that perspective is different from water level and in a kayak you are definitely on water level. To experience Venice from a kayak and thus water level is just amazing. The team from Venice Kayak wil take you on different tours and wil help you experience this safely and comfortably. Kayaking in Venice can be challenging, so I would say, that at least you should have some experience in a kayak. I took the 3 hour Venice Canal Tour (time flew by) and I am an intermediate paddler. The Lagoon Tour is probably less challenging and you will be immersed in nature and quiet.... As said, Venice Kayak and its team has all the right gear and experience to make the trip safe and comfortable. You start off in the Certosa Harbour with some paddling excercises - just to make sure. Certosa - by the way - is an absolute gem of an island and the Vaporetto only stops there on request! So also peace and quiet guaranteed. Arriving at Venice Kayak you immediatly feel welcome and everyone is very friendly and enthousiastic about Venice (and kayaking). I had some special requests and they tried to accommodate me in every way possible. So not only did I have a great day on the water, but also perfect equipment to enjoy the trip. I am very glad I chose Venice Kayak today and I am very happy to recommend them. Certainly wil book another tour next time I am in Venice (deo volente). Great way to explore Venice, much better than a Gondola ride. We were a group of 3 amateur kayakers (including a 16 yr old girl) and had little problem paddling. Just beware that it requires some strenuous paddling at times, especially when crossing the navigation channel. Like someone said in another review...this is not your grandma's tour.
Besides the expected kayak/paddle, we were also suited up with a life vest, waterproof jacket, water shoes and kayak skirt cover. All in great condition. Giovanni was an excellent guide and made sure we were safe maneuvering through boat/gondola traffic. He even managed to take great pictures of us with his own camera, which he later emailed to us.
This business is run by some very friendly, interesting and experienced individuals who made us feel very welcome. JP the director even treated us to some Cola and chips afterwards and we shared his awesome life experiences with us.
We highly recommend this experience.

This was a unique, memorable, and enjoyable experience to get the perspective of Venice from the canals. A 20 minute gondola ride does not give you enough of the water, this tour will. You will have plenty of time to see the city through first hand experience.
We took a Water Taxi to Certosa Island and then a ferry upon return, smooth and easy transport to and from.
Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, but do not expect a history lesson tour. There may be a language barrier depending on your guide. But we did not book for a history lesson, we wanted to the adventure of the kayak and that is what we got.
There is a lot of activity on the canals, and you need to be alert for boats etc. We would have appreciated more hand signals or shouts from our guide to let us know when to hang left or right or to stop. This is not 'your grandma's tour', you need to be in shape and capable to paddle.
The staff was friendly, gear smooth to get in and out, and JP made us very welcome upon return and spent extra time with us and we really enjoyed the conversation.
I would recommend this tour for something different and bragging rights! Not everyone gets to kayak in Venice!

IF you are outdoor/active oriented, do not come to Venice without doing a kayak tour with Venice Kayak!! Preferably earlier in your visit. You will appreciate your other time in the city with the foundation given by your time on the water, in the canals and hearing the guides' narration. Experience the canals from water level! Also, just getting to the meeting location is an awesome adventure, via water bus or water taxi.

A really great way to see a different side of Venice whilst travelling through history off the beaten track..
Online booking was very simple. We were warmly welcomed and given instructions and a good safety briefing by Giovanni, our fantastic and very patient guide, who made the trip interesting and fun. He clearly enjoys what he is doing, is very professional, helpful, well organised and safety conscious. But the real star of the company is definitely Stella, his gorgeous dog ;-)
Seeing Venice from a Kayak is an unforgettable and unique experience! I can't recommend it highly enough!

A fantastic way to experience Venice! One of the highlights of our visit. As beginners, Max (our guide), ensured that we were well looked after, he took lots of photos for us and had some interesting things to tell us about the wonderful city. Highly recommended!!

Max and Giovani made our visit to Venice off-the-charts amazing! When traveling with teens you have to make sure you "do" as much as you "see". The kayak canal tour was a perfect mixture and was 100% low stress for this mom of two. Venice Kayak takes care of everything (including picture taking), so that you can safely and comfortable see the city of Venice from the water... in a whole new way. 100% recommend for visitors of all abilities.

Hi, our half day tours are also suitable for those with too little kayaking experience to take on the longer tours and there's assistance getting in and out of the boats. If there are minors in the group, or elderly persons, or participants with physical or psychological ailments that could afflict the safety of the tours, we’ll like to know in advance. Safety is a prime concern for us, so please tell us everything that might be of importance.
