Spectacular journey with an extremely knowledgeable and personable guide. He provided an excellent balance of historical, scientific and cultural information. Recommended without qualification!

Highly recommend using “This is Etna” with Jonny as your guide. We loved learning about the science/ geology of Etna as well as history of the area. There were four of us and we are all slow walkers. Jonny was patient, helpful and encouraging. It also helps that he’s a funny guy, so no shortage of entertainment along the way. The walks to the cave and crater were breathtakingly beautiful. A once in a lifetime opportunity, even if you’ve been to other volcanoes. Etna is truly special. If you can do a private tour, go with Jonny.

Esperienza magnifica. Altamente consigliato, una delle più belle visite guidate mai fatte. Io e mia moglie abbiamo fatto una stupenda visita sull'Etna a maggio 2022, accompagnati da Johnny. Posti magici, a tratti mistici. Una natura potente e affascinante. Bisogna portare grande rispetto per questo posto! Johnny è super simpatico, gentile e coinvolgente nei suoi racconti di vita. Ci hanno colpiti la sua passione e straordinaria preparazione tecnica. Ritorneremo sicuramente

We fully enjoyed this experience!Jonny was deeply informative and passionate about Etna, he clearely answered all our questions and he was able to make this tour funny and interesting not only to adults but to children as well.
We highly recommend this tour and Jonny for his enthusiasm.
He is a professional doing what he loves!

I could not have been more pleased with everything about this trip with This is Etna !!!
Johnny s strong knowledge especially of history, vulcanology and general facts, gave us greater insight into his beautiful island of Sicily !!! He is such a super cool guy, very friendly, fun and open minded . He let us see unique things that we may have otherwise missed ! Thank you very much Johnny !!!

Il aurait fallu bien plus que quelques heures pour découvrir toutes les facettes de l'Etna.
Johnny, notre guide, nous a fait vivre un moment très intense et instructif et a la fois très convivial. La randonnée était parfaitement adaptées à notre famille (enfants a partir de 13 ans jusqu'à grand-mère de plus de 65 ans). Johnny ne parle pas français, mais cela n'était pas un problème pour notre groupe partiellement anglophone et son anglais absolument parfait!
Un seul conseil : réservez vous a minima une journée (ce que nous n'avions malheureusement pas fait). Johnny saura aussi vous présenter avec grand professionnalisme touts les typicités œnologiques de la région. Une dégustation de vins s'impose (nous regrettons ne pas avoir eu le temps pour approfondir cette facette intéressante de l'Etna par manque de temps)
Nous n'avions pas tous apporté des chaussures de marche... pas de problème : Johnny avait la solution : il nous a loué des chaussures. Il suffit de demander.
Appareil photo / tout autre objet de capture d'image : très hautement recommandé!
Pour le prix : il est très raisonnable.
Conclusion : ceci est une excursion indispensable!

Ho effettuato l'esperienza insieme ad un paio di amici e siamo rimasti tutti molto soddisfatti. Alle 9 Johnny è venuto a prenderci nel luogo concordato e ci ha portato a fare il giro sull'Etna, in mezzo e sulle vecchie colate di lava. Johnny oltre che molto simpatico si è dimostrato preparatissimo e ci ha fornito le spiegazioni sia in Italiano che in Inglese (c'erano dei turisti Americani). Dopo aver visto crateri, bombe laviche e aver camminato in questo posto surreale siamo andati a bere e mangiare presso l'azienda Gambino vini. Abbiamo degustato più di 5 vini diversi, uno più buono dell'altro accompagnando il tutto con formaggi, salumi e altro ancora. Usciti perfettamente soddisfatti (abbiamo anche comprato delle bottiglie da portare a casa) siamo ancora andati a fare un salto alle gole dell'Alcantara, un posto fantastico e unico nel suo genere, prima di tornare a Catania. Consigliatissimo!

We spent over half a day with our guide Johnny visiting Mount Etna as he talked us through the history, geology and social aspects of Etna with such great passion ! The tour was in a Land Rover, meaning it was easy to drive up towards the volcano, and Johnny took us to amazing locations including a couple of food breaks :) We walked quite high up and it was fascinating to be able to see the craters - our teenage daughters loved the day too.
Be sure to take some sunscreen with you if you go on a sunny day !

Il tutto accompagnato dalla voce di una guida che con competenza, professionalità, disponibilità, passione e simpatia vi guiderà alla scoperta delle viscere di Mamma Etna.

We got picked up at the hotel, went on 4WD off road drive. Learned about the volcano, Mt Etna, it's history and how it affected the beautiful countryside of Sicily. We went down into caves and learned about the plants and trees. It was a wonderful day trekking, and enjoying the nature around us. This is the only way to see the real beauty, and understand this amazing place. Be ready to hike!!!
