It didn't excite us. The entrance is poorly marked, inside spaces used for socializing and aggregation activities. Good state of conservation. Positive free entry.

The medieval fort is made from millions of bricks. It was started in 1524 and completed in 1620. A large amount of original brickwork still exists despie WW2 bombings. Napoleon used it for barracks and fortication during his control.
instead of having a moat with a drawbridge it had a boat on a rope as its only access.
Worth a visit to the architectural robustness.

A truly beautiful and little-known unique place... it's a shame it should be valorised more... it's worth a visit... there are unique views and panoramas... the bar inside is excellent!

The Ancient Fortress is beautiful and mysterious, the cracks that time has left should be restored a little and it would be an even greater attraction. Many boats and fishing boats. Nearby is the fish market. Everything speaks of the maritime history of the great port of Livorno. On a sunny day it was a riot of colors between sea and sky!

Chegamos a Livorno no navio Norwegian Epic eu e minha namorada e nos 2 dias que saímos passear passamos pela Fortezza Vecchia. Ela é uma fortificação que fica à beira do Porto. Ela foi modificada e reconstruída várias vezes como mostra as suas paredes. Ela começou a ser construída na idade média como uma torre quadrada. Logo foi construída uma segunda torre circular. O crescimento para fortaleza aumentou nos anos 1300 a 1400.
A fortaleza é composta por 3 baluartes que foram restaurados após a segunda grande guerra. Ela rendeu lindas fotos e está bem preservada.

Bella, ma potrebbe offrire qualcosa di più. È molto imponente all'esterno ma alquanto vuota all'interno. Comunque suggestiva e di sicuro facino.

Molto particolare. La fortezza antica si annida nel porto di Livorno, affiancata da un lato da un canale navigabile e davanti arrivano i traghetti e le navi da crocera. Benché sia a circa 1 km dal centro di Livorno e davvero mal segnalata e sembra non le venga data alcuna importanza. L' ingresso è gratuito, all'ingresso c' è un bar con prezzi economici. Lo consiglio per chi ha voglia di immergersi in atmosfere di altri tempi, perché i visitatori solitamente sono pochi. Benché la fortezza sia lasciata a se stessa racconta a chi vi entra storie di altre epoche. Le cantine sotterranee alle quali attraccavano direttamente i navigli per scaricare/ caricare merci e armi. Le torrette in superficie dove la leggenda vuole si aggiri la contessa Beatrice di Canossa.

Dove parcheggiare per poter visitare la fortezza e fare un giro in battello, e dalla superstrada quale uscita prendere.... Grazie

parcheggi facilmente al parcheggio del mercatino americano che è adiacente e raggiungi anche il centro comodamente tariffe super economiche 30 centesimi l'ora.
