I'd definitely recommend visiting even if you have no clue about weaving. The owners are very friendly and speak both English and Italian, we chatted and joked around while they explained how they operate the machines and you even get to see them in action from close. You're free to take pictures and look at everything, the atmosphere is so cozy that I didn't wanna leave at all. There are various textile works in the shop (tablecloths, bookmarks, framed details, pillows, handbags) that make for a marvelous gift and the prices are fair for the value you get.

We visited this family business as part of an Insight Vacations 'Country Roads of Italy' tour. The business is supported by the Treadright Foundation (IV), to ensure that the ancient weaving traditions continue into the future. Absolutely stunning products, and fascinating seeing how they are produced. Well worth a visit!

This was definitely one of the highlights of our 3 day stay in Perugia! The whole experience was magical and fun. Aurélie was our guide and spoke perfect English. Her enthusiasm and passion for what they do at this studio was evident and she has a delightful personality which made us feel like old friends stopping by for a visit. We learned all about the process of this incredible art form and the history behind this particular studio and the hand woven linens they produce. The studio has a home in a beautiful deconsecrated Romanesque church of Saint Francis of the Women which only adds to the magic of the experience. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Perugia. We felt honored to be allowed to witness the hard work and passion that has kept this traditional art form alive.

I arrived in Perugia by bus and it is the first thing I visited. It's a little far from the city center but worth seeing.
Aurélie explained the machines and work in a pedagogical way so well that I didn't see the hours go by.
It is a unique, beautiful place where the craftsmanship of Perugia survives.

We had heard that there was a weaving business in Perugia that created weavings as they were done hundreds of years ago. It sounded interesting and so we scheduled a tour for my birthday. Marta, the owner and head weaver, gave us a fascinating and comprehensive tour. Her enthusiasm for her work rubbed off on us as she showed us her ancient looms (including some Jacquards) and the work they produced. We were able to see every step of the process, beginning with a drawing and ending up with beautiful hand-woven fabrics. Among her creations she and her two long time apprentices recreate patterns that you can see in Renaissance paintings. Located in a stunning de-consecrated church this weaver's studio is one of the best things to see Umbria. And of course there's always the chance to buy one of their creations.

There are many reasons to visit the Giuditta Bronzetti hand weaving museum-laboratory. It houses a precious art that is unfortunately disappearing. It is located in a beautiful location inside a church from the 1200s and contains a piece of Italian history that goes from the Middle Ages to the First World War. Marta, great-granddaughter of the founder Giuditta Brozzetti, manages to convey her passion for weaving and take you on a journey through time between medieval looms and fine fabrics.

Fortunately, the museum was across the parking lot from our AirBnB! We were welcomed with smiles and perfect English and no entry fee! Amazing craftsmanship and beautiful products!! I was in awe!!

Grazie a voi per averci reso partecipe di un pezzo di storia e per aver mantenuto viva l'opera di donne sapienti che hanno dato una svolta ai tempi.
La ragazza che ci ha fatto da guida è stata veramente brava e ci ha trasmesso tutta la passione e l'amore che anima chi lavora con questi bellissimi strumenti che sono gli antichi telai.

A very interesting visit to look at hand weaving; both old and more modern. In a beautiful setting of 13th c Franciscan Church in Perugia. Take bus C from Piazza Cavallotti to get nearby.

Siamo stati in questo laboratorio/museo martedì 21/06. La location è splendida, si tratta di una bellissima chiesa sconsacrata: S. Francesco delle donne. La titolare, Marta, ( una donna eccezionale che colpisce con la sua passione e lascia il segno) è la quarta dopo la bisnonna ( Giuditta Brozzetti appunto) nonna e mamma a gestire questa attività di tessitura artigianale con telai antichi. Bravissima a spiegare l'evoluzione storica della tessitura e del laboratorio, rende molto interessante la visita, che dura circa un'ora e ha un prezzo minimo. Mi è piaciuto molto anche il collegamento tra l'evoluzione dell'atelier e la storia dell'emancipazione femminile che vi è legata.

Buongiorno,
dal lunedì al venerdì l'ingresso è libero (mattina 9,00-12,30 pomeriggio 15-18). Il sabato, la domenica ed i festivi apriamo solo su appuntamento per visite guidate che prevedono un contributo di euro 4,00 a persona.

i cani sono ben accetti nel nostro laboratorio, io personalmente ne ho due e stanno con me tutti i giorni.
Visto che uno dei due cani è giovane, le chiedo gentilmente di avvisarmi prima di entrare, in modo tale che possa metterla in giardino (è una cagnetta molto esuberante!!).

E' un laboratorio-museo di tessitura a mano con sede in una magnifica chieda duecentesca. Al suo interno si possono ammirare telai originali ottocenteschi e settecenteschi ancora in funzione.
