Mit Freunden, die noch nie in Basel waren, waren wir auf der Information. Das Personal ist sehr gut geschult und gibt viele Tipps weiter - sie kennen die Stadt in- und auswendig. Es gibt auch Souvenirs zu kaufen, wenn man mal auf die Schnelle etwas benötigt. Sehr zentrale Lage.

Bei Basel Tourismus hatten wir ein Pauschalarrangement „Hotel+Ausstellung“ gebucht, als plötzlich das Corona-Virus in Europa auftauchte. Das Museum hat daraufhin (noch vor der behördlichen Anordnung) freiwillig geschlossen. Wir haben die Reise gleichtägig bei Basel Tourismus per Mail storniert und am Samstagnachmittag (!) innerhalb von 20 Minuten (!) die Bestätigung für die Stornierung erhalten, zusammen mit vollständiger Rückzahlung des Reisepreises. Danke, das ist super vorbildlich!

free self guided walking tour

I did a self guided tour of Basel in September 2019. I went to the tourist office for information and I got a leaflet that provided walking routes around the old town of Basel. If you are short on time, the details of the walking tour are very useful for seeing the sights of the old town in a short period of time. The walking tour doesn't go to every sight of interest in Geneva, put it passes by many of the city's attractions, including the town hall and the botanical gardens.

ティンゲリーの噴水の斜向かいにある観光案内所です。中央駅構内奥にもあります。海外の未知の場の情報を得るに、適任の雰囲気の方に当たるとホットします。海外では、総じて冷淡な応対を受け、日本人的な応対の要求は難しいです。

My go to place for info in and around the city

I was looking for a couple of hidden places around the city so I headed to the Basel Tourist office. The staff speaks English and was very helpful with their assistance. Trainee, Naoum, and the other lady that assisted me gave me maps and found the locations I was looking for, one outside of the city center.

When in need of assistance, do not hesitate to head here to the tourist office for any and all inquiries. The staff has always been most helpful and accommodating on all of my visits. Highly recommended!

We went to the I Site in central Basel at 4pm on 23 June to find the lady locking the door. Instead of ignoring us and leaving, she asked us what we needed. We explained that we were trying to find the berth for our river cruise boat for our cruise starting the next day (cruise line hadn’t told us and their offices were shut till Tuesday). She reopened the office to get a map, looked up the port authority on her phone and got all the info we needed and told us the price of a taxi but also how to get there by bus. We were very impressed. It all took at least half an hour of her personal time. So hats of to the staff of I site Basel!

We called in at the tourist information office at the start of our sty in Basel. Recommendations were provided on activities appropriate to our needs and clear directions given to find bus stop for the city tour. No hard sells - just good advice.
