在采尔马特坐上火车后，我们穿过美丽的风景直达山顶。这里有令人叹为观止的阿尔卑斯山、冰川，当然还有马特洪峰。山上有餐厅和礼品店。

乘坐这列火车到达山顶简直物有所值。风景超级棒。乘坐火车很有趣，有时候有点吓人，非常陡峭，但爬升起来很漂亮。一旦到达山顶，人们可以有几个小时的时间四处走走，拍照，甚至徒步到下一个火车站（沿途有几个站点）。搭乘火车有点贵，但是我们觉得一分钱都没有白花！

戈尔内格拉特(Gornergrat)登山火车为齿轨铁路，在短短的三十多分钟内将旅客自海拔一千六百公尺左右的策马特至约三千一百公尺的戈尔内格拉特。沿路上风光秀丽，也可以很轻松地从各个角度欣赏马特洪峰的英姿。随着高度上升，窗外也逐渐变成高山景色。持瑞士周游券有半价优惠，下午三点以后也有星光票半价优惠，这样就可以四分之一的价格搭此登山火车，相当划算。

全景视野很美，可以近距离看戈尔内冰川和马特洪峰。在万里无云的日子里，我个人更喜欢从马特洪峰冰川乐园看到的风景。虽然你可以从戈尔内格拉特看到马特洪峰最美的一面。

Hi I'm going to Zermatt next month and am looking at the peak2peak winter ticket...firstly does anyone know exactly where the cable car goes from in Zermatt please and secondly, are the times flexible, so you're able to spend as long as you want at Glacier Paradise etc...thanks in advance!

Hi , i would like to ask if i coming from Gornergrat station but unfortunately i've missed the Rotenboden station , and arrived at Riffelalp Station, can i still hop on Gornergrat direction train and get down at Rotenboden from Riffelalp?
I'm asking this question because i was told that the ticket is a one way ticket where you cant alight at any station you wish , if i want to go back to Rotenboden , i need to purchase a new ticket at Zermatt , and it will be Zermatt - Rotenboden, i find it so funny as the radio announcement wasnt stated the same as i was being told. Maybe you should update your announcement accordingly.

Where do you catch the train up, can I prebook, and anything else we should know or suggestions. Would this be a better morning/lunch trip or an afternoon/dinner trip? What weather will we most likely see? We will be staying at the Jagerhoff in Zermatt from May19-22, 2020, tues-Friday.

The train leaves from the station diagonally opposite the Zermatt main station. The journey is about 45 mins to an hour to get to the top. Prices vary. After 12 midday it’s significantly cheaper. My suggestion would be to go after 12, have lunch up there and you’ll have plenty of time to explore till sunset. You can buy tickets on the train if you’re traveling to Zermatt by train or you can buy it at the station on the day of your travel.

My bad with the previous question! May i ask again
Planned to go to Gornergrat during the X mas - Newyear 2019, may i ask if the treking between stations safe for kids and is it good enough track worth carrying a rental sledge for a 10 yo kid? Or to find a rental sledge up there between train stations(if any)

I agree that the answer would be seasonally changing. The TI, as noted above, can give much better information if they know when you are going.

Thanks for all the kind answers...as for the interesting advises to trek down to the next station on the way down from Gornerrat, is this treking route from one station to another kid friendly with signage and everything? Dont want to end up in an icy hole that's for sure

Yes, it is kid friendly and quite easy for trekking and there is a sign along the way. I would recommend you to take the train all the way up to the top at Gornergrat station and then on the way back just take the train back 1 station to Roterboden (just 5 minute apart). Then start your trekking from Roterboden station. 10 minute trek to Riffelsee , the most famous lake in Matterhorn. You can see a Matterhorn reflection in the lake. Then continue your trekking to Riffelberg to catch the train back to Zermatt. It should take you 2 hours for trekking including time for photo shooting. This is the closest you can get to Matterhorn with a million dollar view every single minute while you are trekking. Just check the weather before you do.
