ZLovely gorge about 20 mins up the valley from Zermatt with some spectacular sights along the way. Requires a bit of walking and not accessible for wheelchairs. Small bit of history to learn at entrance but only takes about 20 minutes too walk from one end to the other. There is a small fee which you have to pay as it is on private land.

Mountain walks, blue sky, feeling of peace, it really is a paradise, this was the second time I went to Zermatt and I will return this year, God willing.

The walkway through the gorge is a wonderful and well maintained wooden walk including many steps and cliff side overhangs. The gorge itself is very dramatic and offers many opportunities for great photos and movies, especially of the waterfalls and small rapids along with the walkway literally built into the side of the gorge.
The only disappointment was that it is a relatively short walk. I had visited this gorge many, many years ago and seem to remember that it used to be a longer walk. Asking around, it appears that part of the walk was damaged and not replaced (not verified).
Worth a visit but suspect there could be much more.

Worth the walk uphill to see the beautiful views. It costs about $5 but totally worth it. Not a long walk but steep stairs

Hit this on the way from Furi station to Zermatt. Do not pass Restaurant Blatten, instead go right and downhill and it will take you through the gorge and back to Zermatt.

Beautiful place, well maintained. The place with the “bridges” itself is not that large but the price of 5.5CHF is worth it, a few hiking trails are on the end.

The price is now 5.50 CHF. He doesn't accept euros, but not takes credit cards. Kids 3 CHF.
We followed the directions given by a previous reviewer, but then noticed you can also access the gorge from the other side of the river and do it in reverse. We went in at the pay station, then continued out the other side, turned right, and had a pleasant hour or so walk back to Zermatt, part of it through the forest.
If you want to see the gorge but aren't worried about the boardwalks, there is a small section you can see from the public path bridge - just under the big power structure (not sure how to describe - giant metal grid structure, almost like a bridge).

Beautiful gorge worth visiting. Even on rainy day it was worth the hike to see this natural wonder. Not sure how we had never visited before but glad we finally did

Rainy morning in Zermatt and this was an excellent little hike. We were the only ones there. The force of water gushing through the canyon was amazing to see. Good value in a place where everything is expensive. Access to further hiking trails from part way through the gorge loop made for a good morning hike.

Sono venuta a Zermatt principalmente per questo canyon. Costa 5.50 franchi adulti e 3 franchi per i bambini. Se pagate con l euro vi daranno il resto in franchi.
Noi dal centro paese abbiamo raggiunto l ingresso in circa 30 minuti (avevamo anche passeggino). Non abbiamo trovato dei cartelli che lo indicavano, ma se costeggiate il fiume andando al contrario del suo scorrere, quando arriverete al parco avventura , cominciano le indicazioni.
La visita dura circa 30 minuti, calcolando qualche sosta foto... ma è davvero molto bello. Consiglio scarpe da trekking perche le scalette di legno son sempre un po umide.In alcuni punti ho avuto un po di vertigini, ma piano piano ce l ho fatta!
Potete andare e tornare dallo stesso tragitto o alla fine decidere di proseguire per altri sentieri....

We are planing to walk the Gorge too, and then have a meal at the Restaurant Blatten. I have a question. Is the Restaurant Blatten at the end of the Gorge? If so, how do you get back to town? Do you go back through the Gorge the way you came?

Thanks, I like the idea of going to the restaurant first, then walking DOWN the Gorge and back into town. We are seniors, but can walk reasonable distances without issue.

Is the Gorner Gorge accessible begining of April (Easter Holidays)?
We only want to see it and we have no intention of skiing or long hikes!

As the two previous responses indicated, it is not a difficult walk from Zermatt to the Gorner Gorge. I would suggest that you be prepared to climb once you get to the gorge. The walk through the gorge requires climbing several sets of steep stairs. There are handrails, however. The gorge is beautiful and worth the effort.
