The view from Pilate is magnificent. You can’t hike big there, however, you have to be aware of that. The new cog railway is already an experience! It is advisable to reserve a seat online or by phone for five francs. You then stand in a line that is not that long and can enter first. Highly recommended on weekends, as it has very many tourists.

We were absolutely lucky!! The weather had been pretty bad for the previous 2 weeks (we had been told), but the day we went up to the top of Mt. Stanserhorn was perfection. We started out on a funicular, then boarded the open air top of the Gondola. It was a bit of a thrill ride-but I was back on top for the ride down.
We went on a Sunday. It was packed due to the amazing break in the weather on the weekend. However, since we were part of a Viking Tour we went to the front of the line going both up and down.
Once at the top...after admiring absolutely perfect views, we ate at the restaurant. We chose to sit inside-on the revolving section of the floor. Food was good-and the views beyond perfection.
After we ate lunch, we climbed to the top of the mountain. It was a steep climb, but so happy that we did it!! At the top...real feel temperature was 64, and there was absolutely no wind. I did not expect the warm temperature, or the lack of wind.
We were on the mountain almost 3 amazing hours, and it was awesome!
Do not miss this experience on a beautiful day!! (The next day was very foggy...timing/luck is everything!)

The view at the top is great, but the ride up is what makes it extra special. An old open-air funicular starts the trip. An open top cable car does the rest of the work. It was somewhat cloudy during our visit, but we still had good views for most of the visit. Definitely worth adding to a Lucerne itinerary.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn't ideal, which is why there are a lot of clouds. Nevertheless, riding the open cable car in Cabrio is such a wonderful experience! I want to return the next time when the sun is shining.

到石丹峰首先要乘坐敞篷索道纜車（依然像120年前一樣在運行時發出辘辘聲），然後登上未來派風格的CabriO高空纜車(CabriO Stanserhorn-Bahn)有兩層車廂到頂層欣賞風景很棒。

Faultless experience! Views are spectacular and the cafe at the summit was surprisingly good. Can thoroughly recommend.

terribly organized. we weren’t told that we needed to get a ticket reservation back. we waited nearly 2 hours to get back down with the cabin car. our parking therefore expired and we had to pay a fine. they are money hungry and let way too many people up there so that you are squeezed in the cable car like sardines. its extremely gimmicky and way too expensive for what you get. I expected way more. they had exactly one vegetarian meal option which was a not very nourishing pumpkin soup and way too expensive. I’m not the person to complain about a place but this is definitely the worst organized place even though they’re clearly trying to be organized (in all the wrong ways) and make as much as much money as possible. we went there on a tuesday so I dont even wanna know how bad it is on a saturday…

Mountain, view perfect. But the train ride is a complete disaster. You have to buy a time ticket and can't go up or down spontaneously. As soon as I'm at the top, I have to know when I want to go back down...?! If things go wrong, there aren't many times left. What a pity. This organization is tedious.

CabriO Mt.Stanserhorn, Lucerne is this year open until November 29th 2020. The opening next year is scheduled for April 10th, 2021.

Is there a camera at the upper station that takes pictures when the Cabrio is about to arrive, either automatically or manually by a staff of the Cabrio running enterprise?
On a clear day, with mountain peaks, rolling hills, green fields/villages, and lakes in the background, and the Cabrio in the foreground, that would be a photo I am willing to pay good money for. Of course, my travelling party would try to make our way to the top deck.

We did not see any camera, nor photographer that can take any photos, but perhaps enough people there that you can ask to help you out there. I believe Mt. Titlus had a camera at the top near a a ski lift (Snow Glider--??!). Have fun, wish we were there again.

Ja, das Bahnfahrt-Ticket ist am ganzen Tag gültig. Es lohnt sich etwas länge auf dem Berg zu bleiben.

May I know is it Mount Stanserhorn open until 18th November 2018 only? Because I planning to experience the Funicular and Open Air Cable Car during my trip on next year January 2019.

I cannot be sure. I suggest you read over your travel documents and speak with your tour guide. Our visit was included with our tour. I hope yours is, as making the arrangements on your own could get complicated with all the connections to get there and the many tour groups that visit.

Does anyone know if there are any package tickets, ie. departing from Zurich, that include the train to Stans then the cable car etc? Or would we have to buy separate tickets for everything. The cable car is expensive at 74 SFr (as is everything in Switzerland).

You can buy Tell Pass. This covers cost of travel from Luzern to Stans including cable car to top.
Only additional ticket is Zurich to Zug which is outside Tell Pass region.
