A very nice square, which also houses some sculptures and fountains. To this is probably also the place where Andre Rieu gave concerts (so it is remembered to us).

We were in Maastricht on a sightseeing tour and passed the very nice Vrijthof Platz. As a worthwhile Attraction we gladly recommend the place!

Det er en skøn by, Nyt og gammelt, en smuk indre by. Dejlig at gå rundt i. Var nede at se André Rieu. En flot oplevelse. En sejltur på floden er at anbefale, 14€, og en tur i deres eget Tivoli tog, Ca 45 min, 9€. Billetter købes samme sted. De tager VISA.

As the largest public square in Maastricht, Vrijthof square is located right in the heart of the city, surrounded by some of the city's most historic heritage buildings dating back to the era coinciding with Maastricht's pivotal role as a religious centre and military fortress, including the Romanesque Basilica of St Servatius (Sint-Servaasbasiliek), the Gothic Church of St John (Sint-Janskerk) with its distinctive red tower, and the Military Guard House (Hoofdwacht). Formerly a burial site during the Roman period, this tree-lined square with underground parking is now a popular gathering and leisure spot as well as an important cultural hub, featuring various summer concerts and other public events. Though not the most beautiful or vibrant square that you would have seen or experienced, the 2 imposing churches are enough to draw you to this place.

The concert with André Rieu fully met my expectations. Missed the bagpipes, which give total goose skin. At the big screen on the left, you should soon "fall a tree" as it covers over 1/4 of the screen. We were also past the place where André Rieu lives.

During Andre Rieu there was a ridiculous policy at the toilets. During a performance you were not allowed to return to your place and during the end piece (which lasted half an hour) you were not allowed to go to the toilets! If they organize this in multiple places, everyone can go to the toilet without hindrance. I haven't seen any emergency exits marked anywhere. Too bad!!

A wonderful evening spent at the Vrijthof a few days ago listening to Andre Rieu and his Johann Strauss orchestra. The concert was first class with several guest artists as well as a "bull" run! A thoroughly enjoyable concert which was not only inspiring it was also great fun.

Vrijthof - a beautiful town square, market, which is located in the city center. We discovered some sculptures and water fountains here. Right next to it are the two large city churches Sint-Servaasbasiliek and Sint-Janskerk.

Poss a bit further back. For decent photographs and seeing the show I'd recommend seats at the front. For hearing the show and photos even on a mobile phone believe me it pays.

Will you get a better seat at Vrijthof buying directly via Andre Rieu Travel, for instance Dinner Package (including ticket). Or is it just lucky dip?

I believe my husband booked over Internet for ours letting them know we had 2 pensioners and both of us. He possibly stated we'd prefer seats near the front, better still in the front row. You'll have to pay more for these and also book some time in advance. Check your prices, obviously with different companies but if more seats are available early it's well worth it doing things that way.

the concert will run usually at least 30 plus minutes longer than advertised. Allow this and for the crowds when exiting.

Can I book row and seat number so that we are together? I've looked at the seating plans, and the only seats visible are singles dotted about on the dates where its practically a sell out. The extra dates available just give the rank/block. How would I know if were all seperated?

Having got our tickets pre Covid dated around 16 /17/18th July we assumed the reissued tickets would be for similar dates this year (2022), however they are for Sunday 24th July! We have flights booked to Amsterdam & accommodation booked for the wrong weekend!!! How do I swap my tickets from one weekend back to another ? Can we do anything on the square booking office once we arrive? I’m sure there must be hundreds of people in the same situation.
