I was sat down at the bar for 20 minutes and after serving my white colleague sitting next to me, the barman decided to create a rule that everyone had to go to the other side of the bar to order from him - starting with me. I eventually got up and went to the other side, and when I did two white women sat in my seat the barman proceeded to serve them before me. When I asked why he said there was no reason - and then refused to speak to me but the whole interaction made other customers uncomfortable to the point they were apologising to me for his behaviour and decided to leave. I tried to complain to the Manager who pretended not to understand what I was saying. Another member of staff told me it was my fault and I had better work out what I did to deserve that treatment. This place should feel embarrassed to play/ profit off of blues music if that is how it wants to treat its black customers. I hope it shuts down - disgusting behaviour.

Een klein oud bluescafé met vooral een heel groot hart voor muziek!
Ik kom hier al jaren en heb me vanaf bezoek één thuisgevoeld. Superplek; niet voor niet heeft het als ondertitel 'home of the blues'.
A little 'vintage' bluesbar with abover all a big heart for music!
I am a regular visitor for quite some years now and I really feel like one of the family.
This is the place for some live music (or a jam) if you like blues.

Home of the Blues in Amsterdam, locale storico, vera e propria casa del Blues a Amsterdam. Molti grandi Bluesman hanno suonato qui: Phil Guy, Jeff Healey , Poppa Chubby e tanti altri. Situato nel caratteristico quartiere artigiano di Jordaans, tra il Centro e Westerkerk, offre Live music tutte le sere, sempre di ottimo livello, domenica e lunedì con set acustici nella prima sala, martedì e mercoledì jam sessions nella sala grande, dal giovedì al sabato bands locali e internazionali sempre di alto livello dalle ore 23 fino alle ore 2. Ampia scelta di birra e superalcolici con prezzi popolari.

Nous aimons les bars à musique live - Notre choix s'est tourné vers ce pub dont les avis étaient plutôt satisfaisants - Nous sommes arrivés un peu tôt aussi l'ambiance était très calme et peu de monde - L'accueil est mitigé et le service quasi inexistant - Mais en même temps on se sent tout de suite à l'aise. Comme s'il était naturel que l'on soit là. Un cadre atypique et une ambiance étonnante. Nous avons pu assister à une soirée de Jam aux sons et voix différents - les uns jouaient avec les autres en fonction de leurs envies ou émotions - Agréable à écouter. Un chouette moment. Plus le temps passait et plus le lieu se remplissait avec une ambiance festive. Bref je ne regrette pas d'y être allée.

After a little jam in the park with a friend we decided to go to a bar for some beers and chats as the night seemed young. We got jealous of the stage and the artists of the night must have sensed it (after a glance at our guitars) as they invited us to join in, so we did. It was the best fun, the bartender gave us a beer to say thanks and we left at about 1:30am while they continued they're whisky fuelled blues sessions. What a night. I'll be back for some more music here every day if I could.

Musique horrible, très décevant. Accueil inexistant. Toilettes sales malgré le peu de monde. Aucun intérêt, passez votre chemin

Local joint featuring local blue/rock artists. Bartender was friendly and drinks were good. Stage opened up at 2200 and they started music closer to 2300. Made for a fun night.

Our guidebook reccomended this place so we stopped for a blues night. Really a nice choice. This bar is really great, with strange decorations and a small stage on the back. You can listen to good music every single day: for free when in jam session. Really enjoyed the cozy, familiar atmosphere.
