We visited the north Sea Jazz Club for my wifes birthday and all was not as expected even though we booked a table, when we arrived there we were left to our own devices to find a somewhere to sit and sadly all that was on offer were cramped out of the way tables we felt that we were sitting almost in the lap of our neighbouring patrons.
The food was not upto much (set menu) and the act we went to see was poppy and not so soulful or jazzy.

We went to see an aussie blues band with gorgeous singer named Meena Cryle. We had dinner and staff was very friendly, food was great. This is the place that you would had to have in your neighbourhood.

In dem Club spielen absolut hervorragende Musiker.
Dazu gibt es ein gutes Abendessen.
Der Club gehört für mich zu einem der besten in Europa.

Over smaak valt niet te twisten. We hadden een fijne avond met Marcia Ball en combo en gast artiest. Het was onze eerste keer in deze zaal. We hadden staanplaatsen, wat achteraf gelukkig zitplaatsen bleken te zijn, want voor de bar waren stoelen bij gezet. Hoop dat ze dat altijd doen, maar misschien alleen als het niet druk is. Het geluid was goed en voor fotograferen was er voldoende licht op het podium. Geen flits nodig. Toilet en garderobe is boven, evenals de artiesten ruimte. Ze hebben alcohol arm bier. Prijs is gemiddeld voor Amsterdam. Hopelijk komen we spoedig weer terug, al zijn we geen echte jazz liefhebbers.

Een matig diner maar wel hoog geprijsd voor de show leidt tot een sfeerloze start van de avond. Minimale bezetting en geen activiteit op het podium. Groot deel van de ruimte met daarachter nog een grotere lege ruimte bij de bar.
Voor de gezelligheid ga je niet om 19.00 u hier zitten. Alleen maar om een plek te hebben neem je het dure menu.

NSJ club is een goed podium als er grote namen optreden. En als dat niet zo is, is het een zeer aangename omgeving voor een jazz concert in combinatie met diner.

We were here for the Mack Arnold concert. The concert was great! The venue is very great. Good sound system as I could understand every word that was sung. As far as food and drinks, I'm from the old school. I do not go to a jazz club for a high end food experience for that I go to the many many restaurants in Amsterdam. I go for the music. I'm good with bar food (i.e. Chicken wings, sliders, etc). I had contacted the club on the food I could not eat due to allergies. They kept bringing me food from the vegetarian option although I had notified them that my family member ( who is vegetarian) was unable to attend. The entrees for our entire table were cold ( we were 1 of 2 tables last to be served) The waitstaff truly struggled. The waiter apologized for the food being cold and the chef came out to find out what happened but to be honest he did not appear to believe us.
I would definitely go back for the music, but for the food, not so much.
