It's nice and peaceful here. The canal is pretty with the boats and windmill. This is a residential neighbourhood though, not s party zone

On our way to our next activity we passed the authentic Delfshaven. A beautiful location where history has clearly left its mark. You can choose to take a seat on the various terraces or stroll through the harbor. Highly recommended!

We walked here from the center and were a little disappointed. The picturesque house facade was the only Attraction for us, otherwise ? Not a roar for families with teenagers. Many steps low yield

When researching on Rotterdam and places to visit , was recommended through web search as a charmful , referring to this area Delfshaven. We took transportation there from Markthal which dropped us off in the center.
I hated the town , ended up just having drinks in a pub at the canal and headed back to Rotterdam station

One of the few neighborhoods in Rotterdam that survived the World War II aerial bombardment, Delfshaven is the perfect place to experience a different side of the city, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Here in this picturesque marina, there are no fancy modern architectures, just old-style historic canal houses exuding their authentic charms from centuries past. Strolling through the town along its quaint streets and canal feels like travelling back in time and you can easily imagine the busy maritime activities taking place at the canal. You get a sense of the importance of this harbor town in the world's maritime history. After all, Delfshaven is the departure point from which the Pilgrim Fathers sailed for America in 1620. Some of the buildings have been around for centuries, including the landmark Pilgrim Fathers' Church that dates back to 1417. Also not to be missed is the rebuilt 18th century windmill, De Distilleerketel, which is an active grain mill. In summary, Delfshaven is a delightful escape into the past while still within a stone's throw from the modernity of Rotterdam.

No visit to Rotterdam is complete without visiting Delfshaven!

This place is magical, old houses with typical design and crossed by a wonderful canal. A quick walk is worth it to appreciate this place.

A very worthwhile view of traditional Holland within easy reach of modern Rotterdam by Metro. Spared the bombing devastation of World War II, Delfhaven is a compact traditional Dutch canal (the old port outlet for neighboring Delft) which offers beautiful views worthy of countless "selfies." In addition, it is the site of the church where the Pilgrims worshipped in 1620 prior to embarking for America. If possible, time your visit to the church on a late Sunday afternoon - church-visiting hours are very limited or non-existent during the week - to view the interior. Prior to Evensong, the church is open for an hour to visitors and, if you linger, you get to hear the organ and concert. Before or after, go next door to the Pilgrim brewpub for a pint or two of their Pilgrim beer and their mittenballen.

Nice to see a small part of Rotterdam that still has history, from before the bombings. It's a nice time for a short walk

Delfshaven is a beautiful old harbor. Towards the Maas there is a classic Dutch windmill, on the other side there are many historic houses and boats to admire.
