Absolutely stunning! The Van Buuren house in Ukkel is a hidden gem that beautifully showcases the elegance of Art Deco. The interior architecture is a unique total concept complemented by the impressive art collection. I was particularly captivated by the art collection and restored works of masters like contemporaries of Pieter Brueghel de Oude, the focus on the School of Latem with Gustave Van de Woestijne also Gustave Desmet, statues of Minne, unfinished work of Rik Wouters, a dark seaview of Permeke and a little Ensor. Standing next to Eric satie's piano I often felt like the owners were present, with each piece in the rooms telling its own story. A must-visit for art lovers and architecture enthusiasts alike!

House with any external appearance (brick). The interior is quite interesting: some remarkable paintings, Von Dongen, Brueghel etc., but very few exceptional paintings. Well appointed garden with small maze. High price for the small outdoor course and the limited number of rooms of this small house that can actually be seen. I’m not sure I want to repeat the experience, or recommend it to friends...

Do not let yourself be stopped by the austere facade of the house, it is a time travel that you will make. The Villa Van Buren invites visitors to enter the privacy of wealthy patrons who have called on renowned art deco figures to create and furnish this setting. The interior design was designed by the studio Dominique who ensured the quality of the creations. From the ornamentation of the walls to the floors, lights and wood used, everything is sumptuous and amazing. Do not forget to take the time to contemplate the paintings and works of art collected by this passionate couple. Visiting the garden ends the trip in style.

If you’re after a quiet and quirky mix of history, architecture and design, this place ticks every box. Nestled in a residential neighbourhood away from the buzz of the city centre, you can walk through the Van Buuren’s charming house while reading about each room from a paper booklet. We particularly enjoyed the sculpture maze and the little cinema on the top floor!

Fascinated by the garden and Art-Deco interior. It was a really good experience for me discovering sculptures in the garden and entering the maze modelled on the mythological Daedalus.
Similarly, each room inside the house has been beautifully decorated with warm colours and fine art; it was a pleasure to discover more about the significance of David and Alice van Buuren in Uccle, Brussels.

Un petit joyau art déco dans un écrin de verdure très bien aménagé.. David et Alice van Buuren ont bâti une maison aux très belles proportions, avec de très beaux matériaux. Une riche décoration vient orner toutes les pièces.. tout est très raffiné à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur.. on a passé un très beau moment dans ce très beau lieu ..

Litt tilfeldig at vi valgte å ta trikken ut men så glad for at vi gjorde det. Fantastisk hage og sjarmerende hus. Elsket filmen som fortalte historien til eierne - fantastisk hvordan den kommuniserte til alle helt uavhengig av språk. Den må bare sees.

This stunning home and garden is well worth the visit. There is a charming video about its history and owners--you won't want to miss this. The tour is via a handout that describes items room by room. Many paintings to see, along with furnishings and objets d'art--and while we only took a quick look at the garden because it was raining, it would be lovely to explore on a nice day. Be sure to reserve a time; you'll be given shoe covers prior to starting the tour.

You don't as individual traveller. As a group it is recommended to do so. If you want a person as a guide you better warn them in advance.

I dont know... By bus probably... Uccle is a large "commune" , you have to reach boulevard de Waterloo... Good luck!
