This is a part of town that you will want to visit. You have a riverfront with some cafes. Lots of beautiful old canal houses and spires. It is one of the more picturesque parts of town, very photogenic.

Kraanlei is a short street in the centre of Ghent. It is much less impressive than the twin quays of Graslei and Korenlei, but well worth a stroll. From Sint-Veerleplein, where the Tourist Information Centre is located, we turned right and entered Kraanlei. Although some of the 16th and 17th century façades have been modified in the 19th century, Kraanlei still feels very authentic. At the beginning of the street, there is a good view of the Great Butcher's Hall (“Vleeshuis”). One of the few really remarkable buildings on Kraanlei is the restored 16th-century children’s hospital, now housing the museum Huis van Alijn. The museum café in the lovely green courtyard is accessible without a museum ticket. The two most richly decorated Baroque houses along Kraanlei are to be found at the end: The Seven Works of Mercy (1643) at No. 79 and The Flute Player (1669) at No. 81.
Many contributors seem to have confused “Kraanlei” with the more impressive Graslei and Korenlei. No wonder that more than half of the pictures don’t show Kraanlei, but a variety of other sites like Korenlei, Graslei, Het Groot Vleeshuis, the Gravensteen Castle, and Rabot Sluice (all listed separately on Tripadvisor).

Simply a nice place to sit and watch the world go by. On a nice day bring a picnic and sit on the wall or your chips and stew from the kiosk at the slaughterhouse.

Kraanlei is located south of the Patershol district. Here you will see beautiful 16th and 17th century facades. The House of Alijn is also here. Also look at no. 79 at the candy store Confiserie Temmerman, no. 25 at the Light Gallery with the pots and pans bench outside and, among other things, cutlery lamps in the store. Look up at number 17, there is Manneke Nestor on a facade flanked by Lena and Luna.

We sat in an outdoor restaurant here and had a good lunch, enjoying the view of the river and the people walking by. You need some good weather for this. Gorgeous collection of canal houses here, and it's in the center.

Kraanlei is waterfront street north of Ghent's major historic squares. Less crowded than Graslei, it is a pleasant place to experience the past grandeur of the Belgian city or simply enjoy some relaxing moments. More interested travelers may want to join the boat tour.

Maybe the prettiest walk in town, along the river which looks like a Low Countries canal. Beautiful guild houses along the way, one huge church, lots of history and lots of food and drink. Splendid on a sunny day.

How can one reach to Kraanlei from Ghent Sin Pieters Station?
Is this places connected through tram or do I need to take a taxi?

You can take the tram but will have to do changes. Best way to reach is to take a taxi from the station.
