We gingen naar een dansvoorstelling en waren anderhalf uur vooraf in het café. We waren er nooit eerder geweest en hadden geen idee van wat ons te wachten stond. Er was niet eindeloos veel keuze, maar toch voor elk wat wils. Chili, pasta, croques... De chili sin carne met zure room en nacho's is volgens mij echt een aanrader. Wanneer je voor een voorstelling iets wilt eten, ga dan tijdig. Het was gisteren vrij druk en we moesten toch wel een tijdje wachten op onze schotels. Maar het was de moeite waard.

I was working there with my computer, tasted good drinks and had a dinner. Prices are fair but dinner wasn't as tasty as I hoped! Atmosphere was still nice, many interesting people and very good backround music. I have heard that sometimes there are some jazz concerts and many people come to have a chat with friends in the evenings - all the tables were occupied!

Great bar in a very nice location with a lot of interesting stuff happening all the time (that's a lot of nice things in one sentence but they are all 100% correct and true :-) )

When in Leuven we regularly have coffee here. The location is very central and we like the large room with its very high ceilings. Patrons have to order at the bar, there is no waiting at tables and the food offer is, unfortunately, very limited. As indicated by its name, Stuk is not just a café, it’s an arts centre (‘Kunstencentrum‘ in Dutch) installed in a building complex stretching between Naamsestraat and Schapenstraat. We already visited several modern art exhibitions at Stuck and found the setting very fitting.
The name of the café - STUK - is written in oversized black letters standing in front on the rather nice-looking old building. A quite unnecessary visual degradation of the façade, so it seems.

Wij waren in STUK voor een hapje en een drankje. Maar er is in dit culturele centrum veel meer te halen. De sfeer is er een die je niet direct van een studenten café zou verwachten: rustig en sereen. We hebben alleen soep gegeten. De porties waren groot, maar niet bijzonder lekker. Voor de toiletten moet je naar buiten en twee trappen af. Vertrek dus op tijd!

Als ik het STUK binnen ga, voel ik mij terug 18 en student.
De sfeer is er een die je niet veel meer tegenkomt in Leuven of andere steden.
Lekker alternatief, en voor iedereen.
En ze hebben lekkere drankjes!!

A special place more for the artistic kind of person. Drinks are good but pretty expensive. A lot of artistic performances take place here.
