We had a fascinating and stimulating day with Jacques touring the Ypres Salient battlefields and cemeteries. His depth of knowledge was amazing but more importantly he was able to use it in a way that made the day very personal to us as Australians, enjoyable and fun. Thank you Jacques for a truly memorable day.

We spent a half day in the wonderful company of Jacques - he was extremely knowledgeable and provided personal and academic texture to the battlefields. It was a balanced and fascinating trip. We cannot praise him highly enough - a first class guide.

Genevra’s planning and overall helpful demeanor insured that our trip went smoothly from start to finish.
Jacques’ enthusiasm and supreme knowledge on all things Western front, and in particular the Ieper salient, ensured that through his anecdotes we were transported back in time to these pivotal moments in history.
The tailored approach to our familial connection to the region ensured that we felt the bespoke nature of the experience.
In short, the trip surpassed our expectations and we would, without hesitation, recommend their services. We will be back!

We were very lucky to find Flanders Battlefield Tours who kindly arranged for us to not only visit two great uncles war graves but Jacques provided so much more historical information. This information was very specific to the two soldiers concerned and was new knowledge for our family.
I would very highly recommend this company to anyone who wishes to understand the circumstances of lost soldiers.

We just wanted to say thank you again for the brilliant tours that you provided for us Genevra and Jacques. We all felt that the tours were one of the absolute highlights of our trip and have already recommended you both to so many people who have enquired about our travels. Our group consisted of 5 adults and 3 children and the tours catered for us all.
Thank you so much for everything that you showed us and for all of the information you shared. Your tours have certainly had a huge impact on us all and have given us a new appreciation for our soldiers, their courage and bravery.

The Grand North South Salient Flanders Battlefield tour was excellent. I did not do history at school, so my WW1 knowledge was non existent. Jacques was amazing. His knowledge and passion for the history of the region shone through, and he was keen to share this knowledge with us, so we had a better understanding of what occurred all those years ago but the implications for those living in the area today. The tour was both informative and moving and conducted at a suitable pace. Jacques accommodated all our requests.

What an amazing experience, Jacques was a very passionate knowledgeable guide. Setting everything up was a breeze and Genevra was always prompt and accommodating. Jacques took us around and instilled the magnitude of individual places of the battlefield. There is some driving as this is more of a four year long battle with separate battles all over the area thru out the war. But Jacques always kept our attention in the car with small stories and showing us the advances and defensive lines. He was excited and happy and great company. Yet always spoke with respect for the Men and Women who died there to preserve society as we know it today. We always heard about Flanders and the Somme, but Ypres was a highly contested point of the western front for the entirety of the war. If you are looking for a great, in depth WW1 battlefield experience, you found it. I am planning another trip with some friends to go and will be contacting Genevra to show us even more as im certain this is one of the best tour guides in the area.

We had an excellent tour of the Somme with Jacques, from booking through to the end of the tour everything was professional with good communication at each stage from Genevra. Jacques is so knowledgeable and personable and answered everyone's questions, even including some 1/6th Glosters information as we went along.
He also took us to the grave of a relative's Grandfather (requested in advance), we were the first to visit and Jacques recited the Exhortation, a very poignant moment for us.
There really aren't enough superlatives to describe the quality of the tour and I highly recommend Flanders Battlefield Tours.

Visited Ypres 4 times and been to all the larger/well known sites and cemeteries. Would love to visit some of the smaller,more out of the way sites,open to suggestions anybody. Looking at 2020 btw

Hi, we did a ‘standard tour’ of the larger cemeteries, however our guide was extremely knowledgeable and I know they do more niche/bespoke tours including ones individually tailored for relatives of the fallen. Recommend getting in touch with Gen to see if she can arrange what you’re looking for.

Hi, I am really interested in the battlefields and bunkers/trenches of Flanders area. We are staying in Ypres. My spouse has some difficulty w/ walking, using a cane. Who did you use as the tour? We have been doing private tours lately in Europe & very satisfied with the slower pace & ability to converse w/ guide.

So sorry that I didn't answer before, I only just saw the question! I have been with Flanders Battlefield Tours quite a few times. This answer box won't let me put the website address, so google Flanders Battlefield tour and you can email them.
I can't recommend them highly enough. They will take you anywhere, and are very considerate of people with limited mobility. And they will talk to you at great length.

We are from Australia and are arriving in Lille via London at 11.30 am Wed 25/7 and returning to London at 9.30am from a Lille on Sat 28/7. We planned to hire a car. We want to do Victoria School, Franco/ Australian Museum and John Monash Centre at Ville-Bretonneux and then Ypres inc cemeteries, Meningate ceremony , Cloth Hall museum etc then visit Mons where first battle of WW 1was fought ( Grandfather involved!). We are wondering how we could use Flanders Battlefields Tours for this and just stick to train travel and forget the hire car. Any ideas how wh can combine all? Want to stay at Ypres at least 1 or maybe 2 nights. Kind Regards,
