altro castello sulla strada per Lisbona che fu rafforzato nel corso del 600 sempre per motivi militari. la parte seicentesca è molto bella rispetto a quella medievale. vale una visita.

A must if you're visiting Estremoz. Beautiful castle with a rich history behind it. From the castle you have an amazing view of the countryside.

Pousada maravilhosa, muito bem conservada e decoração linda. Interior com móveis de época.
Capela e jardins lindos. Ficamos por 3 dias. Funcionários gentis e prestativos. Pequeno almoço com bastante variedade. Recomendo.

Lindo local onde atualmente funciona uma pousada com ótimo serviço, mantendo a decoração e a tradição do local, o qual já foi o castelo da Rainha Santa Isabel.

We spent 1 night as part of a tour group. The hotel incorporates part of a medieval castle overlooking the village. The room and bathroom were a good size. There were great views and the corridors were filled with antiques. The shower was very good, the wi-fi was good the staff wee very helpful, the breakfast was very good and the included dinner was excellent

One of Europes historic hotels. It is like staying in a living museum. The decor and furniture is amazing. If you want to do something different in Portugal and go off the beaten track this is definitely a wonderful experience. Not many tourist in mid July. The restaurant, bar, hallways, courtyard and living rooms are SO beautiful.
Very nice pool area and staffed at all the time.
Friendly and very helpfull staff, especially in the reception.
We stayed in the suite. The Air Condition didn’t work in the main bedroom. They had maintenance trying to fix it for 3 days. The entire hotel was fairly cool all over, but this one room was very hot. Outside it was more than 40 degrees celcius in the shade all 4 days.
Every day they had brought a little extra something to our room.
The breakfast was very nice. One suggestion though: Lipton tea is not very good. Since the coffee drinkers enjoy nice Nespresso machines and other good stuff, you could step up on the tea selection instead. Maybe bring out some Twinnings tea at least.
There is a lot to see in the area. At the castle we also saw the church and the chapel. At 10.30 a Lady Lisa from the galery gave us a private tour in english. She spoke fluently english and french and the tour was free.
We had dinner at the castle one evening and it was very nice. But the town have several good restaurants. Even top end gourmet restaurants / Michelin restaurant. So you can really enjoy some great food in the area.

Num edifício que respira história mas que se revela bastante confortável tivemos a estadia perfeita. O quarto era espaçoso mesmo com os miudos e a piscina tranquila e segura com uma vista maravilhosa para Estremoz. O pequeno almoço era bom mas como em tudo, a diferença são as pessoas que nos acolhem com simpatia e disponibilidade em particular a equipa do pequeno almoço. Ficou por experenciar o Restaurante e o Bar que acontecerá noutra visita, sim porque será obrigatório voltar. Aconselho vivamente a quem pretenda descansar com conforto.
