"Das Weingut des Sängers", der ehemalige Mitinhaber Sir Cliff Richard hat das gepflegte Weingut vor ca. 2 Jahren aneinen Portugiesisch-Französischen Unternehmer verkauft. Die Weine sind weiterhin ausgezeichnet und bekömmlich. Alles Handgepflückt, ale Weine verkorkt (Portugal ist mit 51% der weltweit grösste Korkproduzent).
Die Führung durchs Weingut sowie die anschliessende Degustation sind einen Besuchwert.

We were taken round the vineyards and through the winery by Carla who was knowledgable, funny and friendly. She spoke brilliant English and was able to tell us so much about the process of wine making but also about the landscape, and how the location of the vineyard changes the taste of the wines that are produced there. We tasted 4 different wines, all delicious, and Carla gave us recommendations about what to eat with the wines were we to drink them again! She also gave us a fabulous restaurant recommendation in Albufeira which we got a taxi to straight after our tour! A super couple of hours. Highly recommended. (And we’ll come back when the hotel & restaurant are finished!!)

Excellent visit, host was superb knew everything about wine, the place itself was excellent, we were staying in a villa about 2km away and we could see the vineyard from our bedroom balcony, wine tasting was amazing so we bought 2 bottles.
Highly recommended for something different.

Fantastisk beliggenhed på kanten til havnen. Lækre fiskeretter, god vin og super service. Prøv de grillede store rejer til forret.

We are a group of 7 'mature' ladies who holiday together once a year and decided as we had never visited a Winery then we would try this one. We knew Sir Cliff had recently sold it but the fact that it was originally his swayed our choice :)
Although we have drunk quite a bit of wine in our time none of us were particularly knowlegeable about the producing of it. At a cost of only 20 Euros per head including transport from our villa in Sesmarias i think the price was very reasonable.
The lady who took the tour was great, she told us all about Sir Cliff setting it up and about the land and grape production. We saw the machinery used and the 'Oakies' etc for storing the wine. Then we went on to do some wine tasting. The tour was good fun and not overly serious as we had been a bit worried it might be.
At the end of the tour we found out we had missed Sir Cliff by 1 day as he had been there the day before to say goodbye :(
As a consolation the lady gave us all a signed photo :)
On the way home the taxi kindly stopped outside Cliff's villa for photos.

Wonderful visit. Our host made a special effort to open on a Sunday afternoon just for us. She was extremely knowledgeable, and turned out to be the owner! Even though it was just the two of us, she spent a good 1.5 hours with us, including a generous tasting and an interesting short tour. A bonus was meeting the on-site goats and donkey, who all enjoyed saying hello! The wine was delightful too. Highly recommended.

Excellent tour given by Carla. She was delightful - very enthusiastic and provided a lot of information about the vineyard, its history, wine tasting and wine in general. We’ve been on many wine/vineyard tours around Europe but this had to be the best one by far. We plan on taking our visitors here on a regular basis. We highly recommend.

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. After visiting the Algarve for over 12 years we fancied something a little different. This was the place to be - a vineyard tour and tasting!
Very well priced for the experience received. Our tour guide was excellent, knowledgeable and very personable.
As I do not drink alcohol (out of choice) I was a little apprehensive, however my parents made the most of the experience for me. I felt so much apart of the tour group even though I was the odd one out and still learned a lot.
Will be returning next year to see what the new owners do to the place.

We had a fabulous time wine tasting with the very knowledgeable Carla. An absolute joy, would highly recommend. We left with 12 bottles at a bargain price. Many thanks

Given how close the vineyard is to albufeira we took an Uber and visited for tour and tasting at €10pp.
The ‘tour’ was more an explanation of the vineyard history, grapes used and process for wine making. All interesting but told in a static one place as opposed to a tour around and being shown the vines and grapes up close.
We were then taken into the cellar for a 4 sample tasting. The tasting was good, included some information about each wine and the wines were nice. We did both feel that it felt very rushed. It wasn’t rushed in a sales way that they wanted us to move on and buy from the shop, but that it was just rushed like they wanted us to go. It would have been nice to feel like we could enjoy each sample of wine for a little longer as opposed to quickly drink it down ready for the next so we could be moved along and out.
As noted by others, other vineyards offer tapas which would extend the tasting experience and make it feel more like a settled half an hour rather than a quick sample and off we go.
I do think this vineyard cashes in on the fact that Cliff Richard owns 50% and therefore use that to their PR advantage.
Overall a nice hour for a one off visit.

Hey! I’m just wondering about transport. Im booking to come here with 9 others, happy to get separate taxis/ubers- have anyone done this? I’ve looked on maps and our hotel is a ten minute drive away. Would it be cheaper to organise our own transport? Thanks!

We booked directly with the vineyard which included travel. Email them first to arrange, they have a mini bus which should fit you all in.

sorry for delay in responding.....
we visited here whilst on a weeks holiday so had a hire car for the complete week, our hire only cost £45 and we didint use any local transport.
There were small mini buses dropping off people for the tour so not sure how this was booked
sorry if this isnt much help to you , have a great trip :)

You can book online or call the winery , it’s a great place for a visit .
The vineyards and winery are owned by Sir Cliff and he still owns 50% as he has a partner .
The history and vision he had is how they still come to be there and you will learn all about it at the tour , it’s very interesting, well worth a visit we only visited 2 days ago and I would recommend it .

I'd advise booking via email first Hun - u may be lucky enough on the day BUT to travel that far, then be told they can't fit u in, then maybe if someone's a BIG cliff fan, they may be rather upset! Lol xx
