Absolutely brilliant place. My Wife had been here a year ago with her "ladies" and raved about the place. When we were going to Albufeira on holiday last week with a group of our friends we returned to see just how good it was. To be honest ,I was preparing myself for disappointment.......I could not have been more wrong. Great venue with an brilliant atmosphere, really tastey food and excellent entertainment and staff. Obviously though the real selling point for the place is Johnny himself-lovely fella who can't do enough for you and takes a real interest in his customers. If you want loud, pumping music that leaves your ears buzzing, this probably isn't for you. But for those of us who appreciate a very slightly less frantic evening, I would fully recommend this place. Currently open Tueday and Friday evenings plus adifferent al fresco lunchtime session on Sunday featuring an accustic set featuring a different vocalist. I would recommend booking in advance.

Have been here once before and had a fantastic night but dropped in so didn’t have food.
This time we had a meal too.
The staff are great and clearly work hard throughout the evening.
Food was nice and Johnny really gets the night going with great music.
Highly recommend this for a fab musical night of making merry!!

We visited on a Tues evening which is one of the two nights that Johnny plays the sax. Then a pop quiz followed by music to dance to. So all in great night. GREAT FOOD GREAT ENTERTAINMENT GREAT ATMOSPHERE WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT.

A group of us went on a Friday night music quiz, what a great great night, fun, staff so friendly, music so good and 2 of us had steak for dinner, best steak ever. Highly recommend a great night had by all.

This is a great night out. Johnny and team are the perfect hosts, with every effort taken to make everyone feel personally welcome and involved in the excellent entertainment. Tbh our expectations of the food were not that high, but the menu was modern, interesting and varied. The food itself was perfectly cooked and presented. The waiting staff were really attentive, professional and very friendly. Johnny is a great musician and entertainer, and with his level of enthusiasm and fun it is amazing he has been doing this for 13 years. I’m sure they’ve tried this but lyric sheets would have been great to properly join in, like many I know the first line to many songs but all the lines to none. Will definitely return and highly recommend. Thanks to all at Johnny Hoopers

We enjoyed going here 3 years ago for the first time so we took friends with us for a visit when holidaying in the area this year. Was even better this time. Great music,food,entertainment and atmosphere. Our friends enjoyed it as much as us. Well worth a visit as u can join in a Quiz,dance or just listen t live or DJ music.

Great evening again .
Always brilliant we eat also very quick service I had jamaican pasta really lovely especially the sauce.
Fresh and tasty and catered for my teenager daughter who is extremely picky and only eats plain food .
We won the music quiz they have and the night seemed to go really quick as enjoyed ourselves .
We wanted to go Sunday as live music on and roast dinner but unfortunately will be back at rainy / windy Liverpool 😥 .
Will be back again tho next year .

Johnny Hooper's is open throughout the week, but on Tuesdays and Fridays, Johnny takes the stage for a fabulous evening's entertainment. Firstly he plays sax, and has great rapport with the audience; then there is a quiz with a prize of a decent bottle of Port, and finally a good-old 60's to 80's disco. The food is fantastic, and worth every penny (it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for). Treat yourself to a great evening at least once during your holiday in Albufeira. You won't regret it!

We have been coming to Albufeira for over 10 years and never got round to visiting this place so we made the effort to book within the first couple of days of arriving. It's easy to book through the Tripadvisor app and we received a number of text and email confirmations prior to our visit. Showtime is Tuesday and Friday and we visited on a Tuesday at the end of July when all but a couple of tables were taken. It seems a great place for large groups who were all having a great time. We were a table of 5 but didn't feel left out. Johnny greets you at the door and we took drinks on the sunny terrace prior to being shown to our table. We had booked early for 7pm following advice from here but the relaxed attitude meant we didn't seat until about 7:30pm and were the first to order. It did mean we had more or less finished eating by the time the entertainment started which isn't entirely necessary. The Saxophone set was excellent with plenty of audience participation. Food exceeded our expectations and table service for drinks was welcome as the tables are pretty tightly packed in. Following the first set there was a music quiz which left us almost dead bottom of the pile, top tip is have some older generation in your team as the 60's and early 70's seem to be favoured. 80's is our speciality but we just didn't get the chance to shine! All good fun though and moved on to more sax playing then a disco headed up by Johnny himself. All in all a great and different night out, far enough away from the rowdy Strip for us middle aged to have our fun. We will definitely visit again as Johnny was so personable and welcoming.
