We had an excellent stay in Armacao de Pera, specially because of our airbnb right beside the colorful and vibrant beach. There are many other similar beaches in Algarve region, so you can take a pick.
We went for a boat ride to Benagil caves one day, then hired a car for a day trip to Lagos the next day. It is almost at the center of Lagos and Faro.
Positives : Reasonable rates for stay, good food, good beach, great crowd, great vibes
Negative : Not so well connected by public transport.

De boulevard loopt langs afwisselde stranden. Regelmatig aanwezig zijn horeca gelegenheden. Strand vanaf de straat steeds goed bereikbaar. Mooi en gezellig.

Beautiful clean beach with various bars and restaurants along the stretch. There are some really interesting cliffs at one end.

O apartamento, na torre Nau Berrio, com uma vista fabulosa para o mar , era o último sítio onde eu queria estar porque o exaustor trabalhava automaticamente das 12.00 às 15.00 e das 19.00 às 22.00, precisamente as horas de estar em casa com as crianças!!! Foi péssimo!!

We went to Armaçao de Pêra on the XRide boat tour from Albufeira marina.
The boat took us on a short tour of the beach and the amazing cliff and rock formations.
The beach was quite full at 11am, soa good job we stayed on the boat, but the scenery is very impressive.

Visited today with family on the basis of reviews here. Wouldn’t return. Extremely busy beach, the seafront is ugly, lots of construction work going on, nothing special at all. Stayed an hour and was ready to leave. Felt and looked run down.

Such a pretty beach in a beautiful part of Portugal. Dotted with cocktail bars and eating places, you certainly can't go wrong with a relaxing day here. You can rent a sunbed and umbrella or take your own towels to lay on, everyone is welcome here. Golden sand, good waves, the sea is pretty cold upon entering but once in it soon becomes warmer. Great for everyone.

This is my favourite beach area in the Algarve. Quaint fishing village, but still trendy. Great local and high end eateries. Fantastic boardwalk which can be walked for hours. Beach is sandy, large, clean and interesting. Will be returning.

Lovely beach but the man with the yellow & white sun beds tried to rip us off! We arrived at 11:55am & asked for 2 sun beds, he said 10€ then upped to 16€ in same sentence! When told that we had only paid 10€ along the coast all the time we were here he said “you can have for 10€ until 1:30pm” any later you pay 16€. We said we were disgusted & went off to Gale beach instead where we paid the normal 10€.
