Very special in the largest seaside resort of Portugal a palacio museum from the last century. Outside there was no sign .But there was a waiter we thought. Turned out to be an attendant. With google translate he informed us that there were only quides tours for 5 euros and that we had to pay cash. Well finally had a very special tour of a beautiful house by a friendly girl who talked very quickly. We were only 6 guests total It was actually more of an experience

It was such a great experience. We had no expectations and were pleasantly surprised! The palace is beautiful and the guided visit was so good explaining the story and the historical context of this property. I truly recommend this visit!

Visit highly recommended if you are in Figueira da Foz. They make visits in Spanish, English, Portuguese (I don’t know if in any other) for €5. Very interesting to understand part of the history of the place. The one in charge of making the visit excellent.

We had this palace near the hotel where we were staying, we went to visit it and we really liked it.
The visit is guided and unfortunately this uncrowded.
We should go to places like this more.
The palace has been restoring respecting the whole.
It is the palace of what in Spain we would call an Indian, an entrepreneur who made his fortune in Brazil.
It has also very beautiful gardens and two other buildings that are not enabled to the public.
The Palace belongs to the casino of Figueira.
The woman who Guides us on the visit is very nice, knows several languages, speaks perfectly Spanish and notices that she enjoys her work.
Highly recommended.

It is very worth the visit thanks to the fantastic guide that gives you a thousand explanations and transmits passion for the palace. A good idea to have booked the guided tour in Spanish for today afternoon. Highly recommended to understand not only the palace but also the history of Figueira da Foz.

A sumptuous palace, a visit that takes you back in time.
Above all, a guide who knows the house and its history perfectly, who takes the time to explain everything in detail. We feel his attachment to the place, it’s very pleasant for visitors.

More than his historical wealth, a rich emigrant, who made a fortune in Brazil, and who decided to build an imposing Palace, and its stables, to reside in FIG. Foz, at the beginning of the 20th century, Joaquim Sotto Maior, who unfortunately, It didn't go beyond the 1st generation, it passed to the administration of Sociedade Figueira Praia, owner of Casino Peninsular, in the 80s!

Charming palace. The visit costs five euros per person and is worth it. There are guided tours in several languages through this incredible 1920s house, which was completed after 20 years of construction. It currently belongs to a private association that also owns the last of the five casinos that existed in Figueiras da Foz. The visit is conducted by a wonderful guide dressed in period clothing and we are greeted by a very friendly and diligent butler. The visit takes us back to that time for an hour. The structure has several deteriorations that I hope will be resolved by the casino. This mansion or palace is also used for some parties and film productions.

If from the outside the palacio seems a little neglected in its green setting, the interior is perfectly preserved. Magnificent residence late 19th-early 20th century, decorated in a very luxurious “French” style. The visit allows access to almost all of the rooms on 3 floors. All are richly furnished. Numerous painted ceilings and frescoes created by António Ramalho. The walls are decorated with copies and interpretations of classic paintings from the Louvre Museum by the painter Dordio Gomes.
It all really has a lot of charm. The icing on the cake was that our guide in period clothing made our visit very pleasant. A must do during a stay in Figueira da Foz (especially since there aren't many things to do there apart from the seaside...). To reserve (because it's not so easy to find) by telephone number 964 460 709 or by email podesaber.patrimonio@gmail.com.

Yo fui a finales de agosto de 2018. Creo que supe de su existencia por internet. Está a las afueras de Figueira, hay que ir en coche. Desconozco si hay transporte público.
Recuerdo que la entrada estaba en un lateral. Nos salió un guardia de seguridad, que nos informó de que las vistas eran guiadas. Y esperamos 10 minutos a la siguiente. La guía apareció vestida de época. Fui una vista muy grata, con poquita gente. Y gratis
