There is a brilliant café/restaurant with a really good choice of hot and cold food and a nice variety of drinks. It's just by the lake at the top of the park with really great views and comfortable seating

You can walk from Rossio, I would suggest metro from Cais de Sodre - it's quite a lot further and for the cost of one ticket (1.40 euro + 50c for the card) a better use of time, unless you want to look at the river and the Praca Commercial on the way

About an hour would be enough unless you like plants and want to visit the Estufa Fria ,the three greenhouses with exotic plants which are on the upper left side of the park if you enter from the top ; in this case,together with the walk down the park it may take maybe a little more than an hour; once you arrive to the big square at the end of the park ,you have in front of you the Avenida Liberdade,the glamour boulevard of Lisbon with lots shops of world famous brands and which in my opinion is a must to walk on ;

Try O Fondue at Rua Tomas Ribeiro, 38, Portugal. I loved the place. Excellent game and seafood fondues.

metro stop Marques de Pombal. You can take nice pics from the big statue and the park. Than walk to the park and take pics from the statue and the boulavard.
