Not large but beautifully kept with huge range of plants in excellent condition with flower bed displays as well as seasonal planting and shaded with mature trees. Plenty of seating, an amphitheater with free performances and cafe. A real asset to be proud of and enjoyed.

Lovely garden in the centre of town, very clean and slick full of flowers and plants arranged by a professional gardeners team. Very pleasant and good for a rest with peace.

I visited this small park during an nearly morning walk around Funchal on a cruise ship visit in December 2022. The last time I was there (2019) the park featured lots of festive decorations including a Santa's Grotto. I didn't see quite the same amount of decoration on this visit but there were lots of light displays all set up around the park for the evenings.
The municipal gardens are right in the centre of Funchal fairly close to the Cathedral, and features various sculptures, statues, a pretty duck pond with fountain and there is a café and toilets. Well worth some time to wander and enjoy the sights.

Take half hours to be there. This is one of the most beautiful urban gardens I've been to. If taking pictures gets boring, you can relax in the park's cafe. House wine is good! It is proven!

Lovely gardens to wander around which contains a decent cafe for a drink/bite to eat. Stalls are set up on certain days and whilst we were there a music concert was being held.

Situé en plein centre ville de Funchal, sur la rue principale, le Jardim municipal est un joli espace vert prisé par les habitants. Très fleuri, un étang, un espace de jeu et plusieurs sculptures exposées, c'est un havre de paix propre et bien entretenu. Un petit marché d'artisanat a lieu de temps en temps.

This is a lovely little park. It has a duck pond, several busts and statues including St. Francis and Simon Bolivar. They have craft stalls some days. There's a cafe and public toilets.
