In the main avenue of Braga and opened in April/1915, Theatro Circo is the city's most important cultural space, with almost daily events.
I did the guided tour (3,50€) accompanied by the guide Nuno, who told us the history of this building, and was always available to clarify the questions posed.
It should be noted that this building was closed for seven years for renovations, and opened to the public again in October/2006.
The main showroom has a capacity of 897 seats.
Among other details I learned that the best queue to buy places for a show is the "J", central chairs, for acoustics, comfort, vision without having other people in the front chair, and general panorama over the stage.
We were on stage, in the rehearsal room, in the bar, in a small auditorium for 236 people, in the camarins, in the warehouse of adhesives to the shows, in one of the camarotes, we saw the path that the artists have taken since arriving here and other interesting spaces, always with associated stories.
The visit lasted just over an hour, which time passed very quickly, because everything was very interesting.
At the exit I noticed that they don't have more symbolic "souvenirs" from Theatro Circo, like pens, pins, small books, etc, but they offered me a postcard.
It was a visit that I planned to make a long time ago and this time I managed to make it.

Στο πανέμορφο ιστορικό κέντρο της Μπράγκα, στη Λεωφόρο Ελευθερίας (Liberdade), συναντάμε και το Theatro Circo. Με ιστορία πάνω από έναν αιώνα, αφού κατασκευάστηκε το 1915, αξιοποιείται για μια μεγάλη ποικιλία πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων. Έχει φιλοξενήσει παλαιότερα παραστάσεις τσίρκου, ενώ σήμερα συνέδρια, κινηματογραφικές προβολές, εκθέσεις, μουσικά φεστιβάλ, εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα και εορταστικές εκδηλώσεις. Το 2006 έγιναν εκτεταμένες εργασίες συντήρησης και αναπαλαίωσης, ενώ διοργανώνονται και ξεναγήσεις με επίσκεψη σε όλους τους εσωτερικούς χώρους του. Δυστυχώς, το βρήκαμε κλειστό καθώς γίνονταν εργασίες στην πρόσοψη του κτηρίου.

This “Theatro Circo”, which we have seen so from the outside, is located at Avenida da Liberdade n.º 697, in the parish of São Lázaro, city and municipality of Braga.

Com o grande impulso que teve as artes cênicas em Portugal no início do século XX, o antigo teatro da cidade de Braga, o Teatro São Geraldo, não atendia às necessidades da população. Por esta razão, em 1906, nasceu a idéia de uma nova casa de espetáculos. Casa esta que foi inaugurada em 21 de abril de 1915. Sua sala principal comporta quase 900 pessoas e tem 4 pisos e belíssima.

The Teatro Circo was first inaugurated on 21 April 1915 when everything around it was only dirt roads and very few houses.
Following a storied history that included the first talking films, operas and public performances, the building was restored by the municipal council of Braga, and reopened in 2006.

Theatro Circo is a really lovely building, inside and out. It was built in the early 1900s and opened in 1915. It underwent some renovations in more recent years and you will love your visit if you stop by for a look. It's worth it.

It’s robust nice building from outside, absolutely stunning inside with such a beautiful detailed decor.
We went there to see the show of flamengo and really enjoyed ourselves.

Selvom man gerne havde set en international forestilling her og dermed bygningens indre, hvis lejligheden og tiden havde tilladt det, så er bygningen alligevel værd at stoppe op ved som et pragteksemplar i art nouveau stil, og hvor man bestemt ikke er i tvivl om, at det gælder et teater.
Der er mange fine detaljer i facaden, som alligevel fremstår ret enkel.
