If you go out to Foz, maybe by street car, you will find this lighthouse out on the jetty, protecting the entrance to the river. It is notable and good looking.

We came from Porto by bike, and it was a pleasure to cross this dyke. From there, you can embrace the Douro estuary at once.

Milovníci moře zamíří k ústí řeky Douro do Atlantského oceánu, kde z pevniny vystupují tři dlouhá mola chránící řeku před velkými vlnami.Na jednom z nich, tom nejkratším, stojí malý historický maják Felgueiras z 19. století, který jen dokresluje námořnickou atmosféru a vůni dálek.

A very beautiful and atmospheric place. There is no special entertainment, but you can look at the waves and enjoy the sea (ocean) air to the fullest. Plus you can go down to the sandy shore and, if desired, even swim.
You can get there by tram or take a taxi: Bolt from the center cost us around 5 euros.

Once you get off tram 1 right next to the large Jardim do Passeio Alegre, the walk begins which leads to the lighthouse, where the waters of the river flow into the Atlantic Ocean.
On holidays the area is full of cross-country skiers whizzing past, Sunday fishermen handling hooks and reels, people walking or relaxing sitting on the rocks.
From Pastoras beach a reinforced concrete pier extends to the Faro de Felgueiras. It is a construction dating back to the 19th century, with a hexagonal base and built in granite.

Starting or ending point for a beautiful walk along the ocean between Matosinhos and Porto. Pretty lighthouse beaten by the winds, a spectacle even in bad weather.

This is a nice lighthouse, looking out to sea, with some lovely views, both out to sea, and down the river Douro. Well worth a visit.

Ο φάρος αυτός βρίσκεται στη δεξιά πλευρά των εκβολών του ποταμού Douro στον Ατλαντικό, σηματοδοτώντας την είσοδο στο ποτάμιο λιμάνι του Πόρτο. Η κατασκευή του ξεκίνησε το 1790, αλλά ολοκληρώθηκε και άρχισε να λειτουργεί τελικά το 1886. Το 1979 αυτοματοποιήθηκε, ενώ έπαψε να λειτουργεί το 2009. Υλικό κατασκευής του είναι η πέτρα, έχει ύψος 17 μέτρα και ξεχωρίζει στην κορυφή του από μακριά ο έντονα κόκκινος κλωβός εκπομπής του φωτός με τα κρύσταλλά του. Η παρουσία του στην άκρη του λιμενοβραχίονα, στην έξοδο του ποταμού και απέναντι στα συχνά τρικυμισμένα νερά του ωκεανού, επιβάλεται σε όλη την περιοχή. Ιδίως, για όσους από εμάς αγαπούν τους φάρους...

A pesar de estar a finales de agosto, nos tocó un día con niebla que no hizo sino darle un toque de misterio a la zona. Un paseo que hicimos caminando desde la Playa das Pastoras, aunque podríamos hacerlo en bici como otras personas, y salpicado de pescadores que estaban intentando pescar, sin demasiado éxito. Habrá que volver a verlo con cielo azul ...

Este farol está localizado na margem direita do Rio Douro. A torre é hexagonal é muito bonita. É agradável ouvir o barulho das ondas do mar se chocando contra as pedras. Só se tem acesso a parte externa do farol.
