Alex is the coolest guy ever! His passion for wine and love for his country made the experience unforgettable. He was so engaging and knowledgeable, making us feel welcome the whole time. The four hours flew by because it was so much fun! The wines were amazing, the stories were fascinating, and Alex’s energy made it even better. I’d 100% do another tour with Porto Walkers when I return!
Amazing tour! Our guide, João, was full of passion, knowledge, stories, and humour. Loved that we got to stop by a little bakery to take a break and enjoy the pastries of Porto. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Porto!
Thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Alex. Porto is a beaitiful city and a walking tour was a great way to get a feel for it. Alex was an entertaining and knowledgeable guide and had lots of helpful tips to enjoy our time in Porto!
Who knew all that went into the production, marketing, and the types of port? Well Alex did, and with such a fun and fact- filled delivery that made the time really fly by. I guess the 7 different tastes of Port from the 3 port lodges didn't hurt. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to figuratively throw themselves into a vat of fermenting Port.
Excellent experience. Alex is a fun, informative tour guide. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys port (or any wine) and wants to learn how it’s produced and distributed.
Could not ask for a better guide. Alex was knowledgeable, passionate, energetic and entertaining all at once, not to mention clever! It didn’t matter that we walked in the rain and that it was cold, Alex made it all fun and educational. Time flew!
Great tour with the Fantastic Alex! He was so knowledgeable about the history and the wines, plus he waa funny and friendly and kind. It was a wonderful afternoon!
Not only was the tour super informative, entertaining and comprehensive, João is an incredibly interesting and interested person to guide you through Porto and make you feel part of it. I enjoyed every moment and could have gone for the second tour in the afternoon.
This free walking tour was great - Alex was a funny and knowledgeable guide and brought life in Porto - past and present - to life. We went on the morning 'classical' walking tour.
The pacing was great, with a good amount of stops and an opportunity to get a coffee partway round.
This was a 'pay what you want' tour and Alex had a great way of handling this part of the day (which is normally vaguely awkward).
Finally, Alex was kind enough to share a list of local recommendations with us which shaped our experience over the next couple of days.
Thanks to Alex and Porto Walkers for a fun and memorable morning.
The walking tour of the city was very beautiful and we got to learn a lot about Porto's and Portugal's history. With our guide Alex the tour was always very engaging and entertaining and we were able to get to know a lot of interesting and fun facts.
As long as they like to walk, the walking tour is open to all ages. I am not sure about the wine tasting, though I think you shouldn’t have a problem. Just don’t let them taste the wine :)
Agreed, tour is free. Tip is the only necessary payment. Pay what you like but remember what other tours cost.
Try to get Speedy Gonzales as your city guide. He is dynamic and will earn your tip.

Hi ~
I am currently looking at the Classical Free tour and the LifeStyle Free tour. Is there much overlap, or do these tours wander through different areas in Porto?
many thanks
