非常不错的博物馆。古希腊作为欧洲文明的起源，谱写着历史，延续着文明！古老伯罗奔尼撒孕育着迈锡尼，提林斯...这里让你身临爱琴文化，这里让你惊呼它的伟大。值得到访，由于时间问题，不能充分领略，下次一定回来。

这确实是世界上最伟大的博物馆之一;任何不承认这一事实的人，都需要回到历史课上重学一级初学者课程。如果你认为西方世界很大程度上是基于古希腊的思想，那么这里收集的东西就构成了我们所知的文明的基础。收藏非常多:史前文物(金色阿伽门农面具!)，美丽的花瓶和红土器具，丰富的雕像和雕刻，壁画(圣托里尼收藏!)等等。博物馆本身就很大，最好分两次来参观，而不是一整天(这会让你超负荷，脚疼，头痛)。我们在两天的时间里把每次参观安排为3小时;这能够让你有更多的时间去尝试和吸收这些丰富而有意义的历史。

计划玩上几个小时（如果你喜欢博物馆的话，可以玩上一整天）这个博物馆的展品很出色。在炎热的夏天，这里也是避暑的好地方。一定要去看看二楼的阿克罗提里壁画和陶罐。

这是一个非常好的博物馆，有很多东西可以看。很好地展示了希腊历史。我的女儿很喜欢，她被雕像、石棺和古董珠宝迷住了。你真的需要花些时间去看所有的东西，因为有很多有趣的东西一定要去看看。

如果你喜欢历史，而且你在雅典，一定要参观这个一流的博物馆。你已经在许多书的封面上看到过这些展品，现在你有机会近距离看到那个金色的面具和宙斯的雕像。这里的每个角落都有迷人的东西。我们只在那里呆了几个小时，但真的很希望我们能多呆一会儿。

好钟意历史，好钟意睇考古学，咁多科入面最钟意就系「木乃伊」，由大英博物馆去到雅典，点睇都系呢一个科目最吸引我。令一样就系希腊有好多神话，喺度可以发掘好多你未睇过嘅嘢。

Can I leave a carry-on sized suitcase at the coat-check since my hotel only has check-in at 2pm and I want to go as soon as my flight arrives in the morning?

When I was there we didn’t because we checked in at hotel first, but when you have luggage so I’m shure they can help you. I did some research online about it as well and in all the other reviews they write that is possible. So yes it’s very likely you can. They write they have room coat check room for example shopping bags and very shire they accept baggage as well. Have a great time in Athens and at the museum, it’s really great,, so much to see!

Is there any way to find out what items (replicas of sculptures, primarily) they have for sale in the gift shop? I don't suppose they do online orders, but just to know what they sell would be useful.

We will be visiting the National Archaeological Museum on a Tuesday in mid-September. Are there English-speaking guides available at the museum to give a tour of the highlights? Do you need to reserve a museum guide in advance, or can you just ask for one when you enter?

Hi, is going by Metro (Victoria) and then walking to the Museum ok. The staff at my hotel recommended taxi as they say the area is a bit rough. I like to use public transport if I can and so far impressed by Athens Metro.

We walked from our Hotel to the Museum, some areas are rougher than others, but personally found it no different to any other European city.
We walked everywhere and had no issues at all.
