We weren’t sure why everything was closed at Chora itself apart from the many gorgeous churches. There were very few shops, cafes or boutiques. And few of them were open at 2pm. The only cafe that was open served espressos only, no other coffee.

Patmosu tepeden harika manzarayla görmek. Dar sokakları ve harika evlerin arasında dolaşmak, hatta sokaklarda kaybolmak. St Jonh manastırını da görmeden dönmeyin tabi ki .

Chora is the ancient hill top village built around the Monastery of St John. Narrow cobbled streets lead between old houses, many now restored holiday homes. Views appear randomly but each is spectacular over the hillside, windmills and sea.
There are cafes and small shops. Parking is just below the village. Taxi from the port at Skala is inexpensive and can take in a stop at the Cave of the Apocalypse.

Beautiful country, with many nice spots to admire the view. But there are the following problems. If you want to go for a walk in the afternoon and drink a coffee, you won't find it. There are no picturesque cafes or similar shops. In the central square of Levia, we were shocked by the terrible encroachment of shops, in fact a Cyrillic restaurant and 1 bar that have literally choked the square with tables, to such an extent that you can hardly pass between them. If you go up at night things are even worse. They are all on top of each other, plus & another bar that opens later, most standing & no trace of picturesqueness. If you want to get out of here, you have nowhere to go & even if you just go for a walk, most of the narrow streets around there are not well lit, apart from the central ones, so it makes things even more difficult. On the side of the monastery, the situation is better, but it still doesn't have a quaint little shop to sit at

The Chora of Patmos stands next to the Monastery of San Giovanni Evangelista. Small and compact, during the day we found all the shops closed, while in the evening they open and you can see people walking and shouting in the streets.
Collected streets and alleys, white houses, a few restaurants in the center of the square, a view of Skala, represent a collected Chora.

Beautiful walk among the perfectly restored white buildings. The silence and the scent of aromatic herbs accompanies the journey to the monastery. The visit is breathtaking!

I will recommend you to rent a scooter or an ATV
That way you can also see some more of the beautiful island
I always rent my bike at Billis motor rent
Billis is situated at the waterfront. Just walk along the water, and
you will see the place.
He has good bikes and he is a very nice man - he is not expensive either
