Pretty majestic site, almost as important as Delphi but not enough highlighted. There is a lack of maintenance: vegetation that invades what has been cleared, some places are no longer accessible. Only the theatre is undergoing renovation.
We also regret the limited information posted.
Finally disappointing visit if compared to Delphi, Corinth or Epidaurus.

The ancient theatre of Dodoni stands out as the most magnificent in Epirus with the capacity to accommodate about 18000 sceptators. It invites visitors to experience rich Greek history and culture authentically. In this special and aesthetically pleasing environment, storytelling, poetry, and music were uniquely blended to communicate in the most decent and profound way what unites the countries and cultures that surround the Mediterranean and its marginal seas. This decency and depth are the same 'qualities' that also characterize the two gifted and very sensitive artists, actress Marina Kalogirou (Μαρίνα Καλογήρου) and singer Thodoris Voutsikakis (Θοδωρής Βουτσικάκης) who successfully united their unique talents and voices in this special performance to offer the audience a rich meal for the soul. The two polite artists were charming and captivating, and their performances were pure magic. Together they represent what I could simply label as "The Dream Team"

Even though it is steeped in history with Gaia and Zeus - Oracle, it is not that exciting to look at. Delphi is more beautiful and exciting.

In a beautiful mountain cirque, the theater is very large: it accommodated 17,000 spectators. Its size required building 2 support walls on the sides. The bouleuterion, where the council met, is disappointing. Excavations are still underway. Entrance price: €8 and €4 for seniors.

Beautiful archaeological site with rich historical value. Surprised by the fact of not seeing any visitors except for a couple, perhaps little known and little appreciated. Certainly not very well cared for, a jewel that should be highlighted much more. The oracle of Zeus is not adequately reported, in fact prayer cards have also and above all been placed on the surrounding trees precisely because it is not easy to understand which is the right tree. (it is surrounded by a wall while the others are not). The amphitheater has perfect acoustics, I happened to witness the singing performance of a visiting gentleman. Advised

The oldest Oracle site in Greece(older than Dephi), was almost completely empty of people. Definitely worth a stop

Beautiful area and not too big to walk around with kids even. Only I was hoping the introduction would be a bit better on the maps and info boards, as my Greek is still very bad.

It is one of those places where you feel the weight of time, history and mythology and you enjoy for a brief moment being part of it. Well organized, beautiful remains, impressive location. A place to remember.

Bonjour avez-vous eu la possibilité de visite le site avec un guide de préférence un guide francophone? Si oui avez-vous les contacts de ce guide, nous serons en visite à Dodone le dimanche 15/07.
Merci d'avance pour vos informations.
Ps: nous visiterons aussi le site de Nikopolis le 12/07 auriez-vous par hasard un guide francophone à nous conseiller? et en partant du port de Preveza savez-vous comment nous pourrions accéder au site de Nokopolis, nous sommes sans moyen de transport et ne savons pas si nous pouvons trouver facilement un taxi ou autre moyen de transport pour rejoindre le site.
