Hello, I hope Harriet can read this. I want to thank her for this review. I (I am black) had the exact same experience at the museum when I went there in 2018. I came to the conclusion I paid my way in to have an absolutely horrible time as a result of the behavior of the staff who obviously are accustomed to operating in the construct of white supremacy. I went with my boyfriend who is white and I tested them by keeping distance from him and going back and forward. It was indeed blatant racism as their behavior clearly showed they think people with a dark skin have no common sense, morals, don't know how to behave. But hey, after a few times in Greece I came to the conclusion Greeks are generally racist like hell although they will use any dialectic trick in the book to deny it. From "it was a misunderstanding" to "we are well -educated (and therefor not racist). I would like to call on every genuine anti-racist to boycot Greece and this museum.
