At first, the museum may seem a bit dusty and amateurish, but the collection is more than impressive. Very remarkable pieces that are presented in an accurate way on an academic level.

Leuke plek om door heen te lopen. De plek zelf was niet heel interessant, maar het biedt een erg mooi uitzicht. Personeel was vriendelijk.

Πολύ όμορφο μουσείο και με πολύ ωραία και ενδιαφέροντα εκθέματα! Διαθέτει και εξωτερικό μέρος με εκθέματα και είναι πολύ ενδιαφέρον καθώς δεν το έχω δει σε άλλα μουσεία. Για τους φοιτητές η είσοδος είναι δωρεάν και η κανονική τιμή είναι 4 ευρώ αλλά συμπεριλαμβάνεται μέσα και η είσοδος στον ναό του Απόλλωνα που είναι πολύ καλό! Το προτείνω σαν δραστηριότητα στην Αίγινα!

A visit to the Archaeological Museum of Aegina is usually combined with a visit to the nearby Archaeological Site of Kolonna, especially since the ticket of 4€ is valid for both places. It is housed in an austere stone building with a courtyard, in which are mainly exhibited funerary stelae.
In the 3 halls of the museum can be seen pottery going back to the Bronze Age like pithoi (storage jars), amphorae (jars for transport) or an oinochoe (vessel for drinking wine) with a motif from the Odyssey painted on it. Other items are a model of a casting pit from the 3rd millenium BC or a pottery kiln (2nd millenium BC). The single most famous exhibit is a sphinx, found in 1903 at the Apollo temple of Kolonna. The information boards are in Greek, German and English, just as on the Archaeological Site.

Σημαντικο μουσειο, η Αιγινα εχει πολλά αρχαια και μεγαλη αρχαια ιστορια. Νομιζω θα επρεπε να ηταν μεγαλυτερο.

C'est l'impression que l'on ressent en arrivant dans ce lieu. Tout est non seulement vétuste, mais surtout mal entretenu et sale... Les diverses pièces ne sont pas mises en valeur.
Quant aux vestiges aux alentours du musée, il faut énormement de reflexion pour avoir une vue d'ensemble tant les panneaux d'information sont peu explicites...

Το Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο της Αίγινας βρίσκεται μέσα στον περιφραγμένο αρχαιολογικό χώρο της Κολώνας. Έχει εύκολη πρόσβαση με τα πόδια λίγα λεπτά από το λιμάνι της Αίγινας.Είναι ένα όμορφο πετρόκτιστο ισόγειο κτίριο με αίθριο στο κέντρο του. Τα περισσότερα εκθέματα είναι κυρίως απο το γύρω αρχαιολογικό χώρο και ανήκουν στην προιστορική εποχή έως την ρωμαική.Έχει φτηνό εισιτήριο στην είσοδο με το οποίο βλέπεις τα εκθέματα του Μουσείου αλλά και όλο τον χώρο με τα προιστορικά κτίρια και τον ναό του Απόλλωνα με την γνωστή κολώνα.

Very nice staff and a beautiful location. Very interesting museum with translations in english and german. It's a small museum, with a great archeological park. Definitely worth a visit.
