I took the architecture tour and it was very interesting. Joanna is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Aarhus. Definitely recommended!

What a fantastic way to get to know a city. Our guide, Alicia, was exceptional and made our tour very personable. She provided us with a wonderful overview of the city's history and everyday life of its residents. Using facts and anicdotes, she educated us on the city's growth, some of its historical sites, neighborhoods and art works. The two hours went quickly and definitely worth the 80 kroner.

In six months I was lucky to participate in a few guided tours by Aarhus Explorers, a collective offering tours for internationals outside of every holiday-season in different languages.
If you are interested in the small details that make Aarhus interesting and define the character of the city, you should definitely join any of the tours (I personally recommend the “art walk”). The length of mostly about 2 hours is quite right for a sunny Saturday in winter, as an example. And you get to see a lot during this time.
However, at this part Aarhus Explorers plays their card that made me join more than once: Don't expect to get a list of dates and what happened, like a boring history lesson. After the walk you are going to know the stuff that makes the details. I think I don't anticipate too much, when I give you two examples: Did you know that in the Marselisborg park there is an arc that was a present from Malta to Denmark? Or did you know about mayor Bernhardt Jensen who began to make it possible that we can now enjoy a coffee at Åboulevarden, which was a multi-lane road back then?
In the end, I can only draw one conclusion: Join the happy crowd exploring Aarhus and get to know the lovely city you're visiting or living in. :-)

Guidet tur ved Marselisborg Slot og i parken omkring. Sød guide, som fortalte om slottets historie, arkitektur, kongefamilien, skulpturerne i parken og meget andet.
Trods regnbyerne indimellem en spændende og lærerig tur, som kun kan anbefales.

Discovering the city off Aarhus with Aarhus Explorers is always a great pleasure. After attending my the 1st guided tour by AE (July 2015) around Aarhus Ø (newly developing part of Aarhus) I was positively surprised by the passionate and friendly guide (Joanna), whose great sense of humour and natural ability to pass on her knowledge made the tour highly entertaing!
Since then I joined Explorers two more times: for the Art Walk (guide Joanna) and a visit to Queen's Summer Residence - Marselisborg (guide Sonja)(both August 2015). Each tour the guides guided their groups with great enthusiasm and knowledge making the exploring of Aarhus a very memorable and enjoyable experiance!
The team of Aarhus Explorers gives a unique (in a scale of Aarhus) opportunity for a non-Danish speakers to discover the city in English, German, Spanish or Polish! Also the tour is budget friendly - based on tips (which they very much deserve).
Keep the good work going! Looking forward to the new guiding season ;)

Szczerze polecam :) mieszkam w Aarhus 5 lat a i tak dowiedziałam sie wielu ciekawych i nowych , dla mnie ,faktów o tym mieście. Przewodnik ( P.Joanna) wykazała sie dużą wiedzą, która potrafiła przekazać w sposób rzetelny i często dowcipny :) zapraszam i czekam na początek sezonu.

I went with free guided tour (tips only), into the unknown Aarhus street art, and monuments. Amazing what you see in a few hours, and extremely interesting what Aarhus has to offer. Very dedicated and knowledgeable guide. I can only reccommend this possibility for foreigners wanting to know Aarhus, but for sure also locals!

We went on a lovely tour of the royal summer residence with the Aarhus Explorers Team - the tour was thoughtfully organised by a guiding team that was knowledgeable and entertaining.
Thank you for a great day out: the pay-what-you-can principle meant a group of variously financially endowed students could all take part!
