Beautiful spot to sit and soak up the river atmosphere and see some salmon jump. Can walk somewhat along side river but not very far as it is not kept clear after a short distance. Still we enjoyed it!

Peaceful gentle riverwalk 700m approx. each way. Easily accessible from Carrick Village. You can extend the walk by crossing the footbridge and continuing another 300m to the lovely falls at the Salmon Leap and relax with a nice cup of coffee from the friendly Barista

mit ein paar Schritten in Idyllischer Szenerie... sollte man in Carrick nicht verpasst haben. Er endet an einer Brücke die Zur Straße nach Teelin und damit in Richtung Shliabh Liagh liegt. Wer es sich traut auf der Straße zu wandern macht also gleicht weiter ... sonst kann man auch den Daumen hochhalten und wird mit sehr großer Wahrscheinlichkeit ein paar Meter mitgenommen...

I like to take walks here.Its nice and quiet, relaxing and you get to see lots of wildlife eg ducks and small birds.

Did this walk late evening in June. Very peaceful and the river is calming. Cross the bridge and return via main road which is fine as there's very little traffic on this road at night.

This walk is really lovely, just to hear the water of the Glen River shuttle it’s way through rocks and crevices and sit for awhile and enjoy the singing of the large variety of small wild birds, close your eyes and you could be anywhere

We walked here after going fishing. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to walk. I would walk here again.

You might have trouble finding the walk because it is across the river from the town; you have to turn left at the Diamond, cross the bridge, and access the walk through a parking lot. It will only take five minutes or so to get to the walk from the diamond, and, if you enjoy quiet walks, you'll like this one. The walkway is paved, fully shaded, and provides nice views of Donegal, especially of the Abby ruins.

I love this walk along the river at Carrick. It's a beautiful peaceful walk summer or winter. The small foot bridge across the river is daring to cross during a flood. The place is well maintained with its purpose made concrete path and gates. A real credit to the people of Carrick.
