There were two exhibitions at the museum when we paid a visit on a day trip to Malmö. Both were excellent, although the absurd art was not at all easy to understand. Nonetheless, there were some photo opportunities: in the mouth of a giant cat, beside a fish in a corset on a wooden (Trojan) horse, etc. However, the fantastic and horrific paintings by the Ukrainian artist Marija Prymachenko (accompanid by other works by Chagall, Jorn, Picasso, etc.) were very impressive and evocative. That's what a modern art museum must be all about! We enjoyed a nice cup of tea in the very orange coloured café too. The building is an old power turbine and has lots of style. Don't miss it if you're in Malmö, but maybe check the website to find out what's on first as it seems that some visitors have been disappointed.

I think I was back out in 15 minutes. Maybe if you really like art it'll be fun? I honestly thought it was pretty good against falling. Visit museums more often when I'm on vacation, but I might as well have skipped this one. Staff at the cash desk were very friendly.

The architecture of this museum is really very interesting and a multitude of details and layout can sometimes recall the Pompidou Center in Paris. Unfortunately as for the museum part we were a little disappointed, taking a full price ticket when only half of the rooms were accessible is a bit expensive to pay, and although tastes in terms of art are very personal it seems that the quality of the exhibitions is quite uneven, we were wrong...

Fortunately, I wasn't negatively influenced by the few reviews on the museum. Having little time to visit the city, we chose to prefer this museum of contemporary art which, although small, was a concentration of very strong emotions. Truly a pearl. Go there.

The modern museum in Malmö is a furiously beautiful place.
I was there with my girlfriend in 2023, we were on a short holiday in Malmö, in general, Malmö is a good place to escape to when the world gets too sad.

50 SEK entry fee. Permanent and visiting exhibition. We saw Lotte Lasersteins portraits here but check their website for current exhibition. A café is also available.

Small and poorly curated art museum - a big waste of time to go here. Rather go to the original Moderna in Stockholm or one of the many fantastic art museums in Copenhagen.

Very small modern art museum, there are 30 paintings in a single room. All other areas were closed for work. It was better to close it in the meantime because it's really painful that way.
