We took a walk from the Royal Palace Park side. Under a blue sky that is just like Europe, the buildings with European decoration look great. I just watched it from the outside. What a great view, combined with the sideways Canal Nord! It's a trip to save money, so take your time doing the opera! Unfortunately, I couldn't get inside. Still, it was a bit of a sightseeing trip.

Our friend used to work here and he has great stories. It is a lovely building, an impressive theater, part of the complex of arts buildings in the general area.

We saw the performance of "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" by Rossini there, absolutely state-of-the-art. In addition to beautiful architecture, the historic building offers a number of interesting objects from old performances, which make strolling through the corridors during the interval an experience. Also worth seeing are the differences in the audience compared to an opera in Germany.

First of all, their version of La Traviata was abominable, a terrible production: a waste of money and time. Secondly, they don't care about the tourist who does not speak Swedish. There are no subtitles in any language, the least the could do is in English. There is no one to help you find your seat. Very few toilets especially for women. On the night of the disastrous Traviata, they decided to spend 15 minutes talking in Swedish about someone who was given flowers. Was it someone who was leaving, retired? In any case, they did not have the decency to explain to us what the waste of time was all about. In summary, Avoid this opera house. Never Again.

I did not have the opportunity to see an opera but I did enjoy a quick visit to this lovely opera house in Stockholm. Tours are available.

Magnificent building, with fantastic architectural details, a stunning central staircase and a concert hall of great acoustic quality.

The Stockholm Royal Opera is pure joy! Choose from a programme with several favourites, watch the performance staged by international singers and musicians and enjoy a festive experience. Watching from a dress circle seat makes it perfect. The opera house is undergoing refurbishments that luckily leave a fully functional theatre. Treat yourself to a drink in the beautiful Gold Foyer in the interval.

This fantastic opera house was inaugurated in 1898. It stands in the same place as Stockholm's first large opera house from 1782 did. A lot of inspiration was taken from the Paris Opera, the new opera got an exterior in Neo-Renaissance style, while the staircase, the foyer and the salon got a Neo-Baroque design.Even if the environment is breathtaking, the performing arts long for a more modern environment to develop the art form. However, politicians are sitting on the money and things are moving slowly here. To be able to take care of the opera house in the best way, you need to draw up long-term plans for maintenance and restoration.
Even so, great art is performed here from amazing singers, musicians and dancers.You usually find tickets at surprisingly attractive prices.

Does anyone of you know If there are special seats for people in a wheelchair. I cannot find something on the Homepage and the telephone Hotline is closed till wednesday.

So this is what I found on their website. It looks like you will be all set.
"A number of wheelchair spaces are available in the auditorium. For wheelchair users and other visitors who need to avoid stairs, there are lifts between floors. Wheelchair accessible toilets are available at the Stalls, as well as the Rotunda stage. A wheelchair is available to borrow".
Enjoy your stay in Stockholm - it is a beautiful city.

How restrictive is the view from a 'covered sight' position? How much will I be able to see?

It would depend on the location with the covered sight. When I was purchasing tickets from the box office, it was recommended to me to place emphasis on the acoustics of the seat. Any covered sight seat would also have acoustic modifications. Personally, I got the least expensive seats towards the back of the top balcony with both a complete view and excellent acoustics.
