This is a truly amazing library. If you want to oggle at beautiful staircases, expansive learning areas and even book-transporting robots, then this is the place for you. It's quite an experience, but be warned, you will likely leave with a malaise about the state or your home country's public services.

What an incredible learning space.
Such a beautiful building with large family areas.
The design is fantastic.
Free to enter.
Toilets are what they call Uni so don't be shocked to find the opposite sex inside.
The cafe is reasonably priced.
Loved the views from the balcony
Well used by students and local community an example to the rest of the world

Heel mooi gebouw, een van de mooiste die ik ooit bezocht. Origineel en interessant concept voor een bibliotheek: een plek om te lezen, te werken, te vergaderen, iets te eten of te drinken, voor kinderen om te spelen,... Met ook nog robots, gedeelde printers, 3D printers, naaimachines, gametoestellen,... Finnen doen hun schoenen uit en lopen er op kousenvoeten rond. Jammer dat alle boeken fins zijn en dat het zo ver van huis is...

What a beautiful library! The layout, the atmosphere, the views...
In addition to the wide selection of books, the cafe, and probably other stuff we didn't even see/know about, there's a great children's play area, with things to climb on, books to read (including in English), and more. This is just one more example of how family-friendly and kid-friendly Helsinki is. A great library in a great city!

A library worth experiencing. Lots of things to do and useful services such as 3D printing and normal printing, the possibility of booking music rooms and computers, studios and game rooms and so on. Perhaps the most versatile and best organized library in Finland. The library has a great design and an open atmosphere. There is also a cafe
The downside, however, is the noise level. The place has a children's playground, which sometimes makes a lot of noise and makes it difficult to concentrate on reading and thinking. Otherwise, a really good library and you will definitely find something that interests you.

Nicht nur aber vor allem architektonisch ein Erlebnis. Muss man meiner Meinung besucht haben. Jedes Stockwerk ein Erlebnis!

Uno splendido edificio inserito in uno spazio ristrutturato con parco giochi per bimbi e campo da basket che si estende per qualche kilometro fino ad un laghetto. La struttura all'interno è in legno e organizzata perfettamente, si possono addirittura fare corsi di cucito e ceramica, con spazi per studiate e computer a disposizione. Semplicemente perfetta.

We found out about this place from our tour guide. I would of never thought to visit a library and I’m so glad that we did! This is not just a library but a great community center where everything is free and brand new!
There are lots of board games including chess, you could play computer games or nentendo switch, there are books and movies in all different languages, there was even a meet up for Korean pop outside. The architecture is also very impressive, spacious and modern. Library is close to central train station
