Not to be missed. A beautifully preserved 16th century residence and a cultural journey of almost 90 minutes into the life of the family and the island. Mrs. Josette, an exquisite and multilingual person, accompanied us in the history of the house and its family, through rooms richly furnished with objects and works of art, some of them of great value, of local or European origin. The rooms are cozy and Josette knows interesting anecdotes about everything on display. Wonderful also the internal garden. Definitely the most immersive visit made to Malta.

A wonderful welcome! A big thank you to Madame Bernard for her extreme kindness and great courtesy. A very beautiful residence and many anecdotes. Mr. Bernard is also charming. This private home is wonderful! Daniel (Paris)

A fascinating insight into an original Grand Maltese house, we were shown around by George, who lives there with his wife. Truly charming gentleman who told us about the history and design of the house. We loved it, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to peak into some history.

You need to ring two bells and then wait, but the tour is worth it. The owners are lovely and take you through their home. Built in the 1300s and renovated with incredible art and architecture. The best part are the little things you learn from the owners about how common objects, and uncommon ones, we’re used. Amazing everything, an absolute highlight

A large quantity of more or less ancient furniture and objects in 4 rooms that enthuse and excite. The owner acts as a guide and collects in black!
I recommend visiting Casa Rocca Piccola in La Valetta to enjoy the experience of a noble palace, here with a regular ticket

Casa Bernard was a standout highlight during my trip to Malta. While most tourists flock to Mdina city, Casa Bernard, nestled in Rabat, is well worth the detour. The hosts of this charming house are not only welcoming but also incredibly knowledgeable and warm. We discovered artifacts reminiscent of those found in the Mdina Museum, but what set Casa Bernard apart was the opportunity to learn about the practical use of various utensils, the history behind paintings, details about plants, and the significance of symbols within the house.
The host is fluent in English, French, Maltese, and possibly other languages. I highly recommend a visit to Casa Bernard

We were shown round the house by the owners - just the two of us. They were both absolutely charming and shared all their knowledge with us. This is a real gem of a house and the garden is lovely too. This shows how a noble family lived in the past - and how a delightful family live there now. They have some amazing pictures, silver and other works of art. Great furniture and in such a beautiful setting.

Visiting the house is worth the trip. The owners are very kind and willing to tell the story of the house and what they have collected over the years. The internal garden is beautiful. A jump into the past .

Felt lucky that they were able to show us around without booking – just saw the door as we were walking past and it was such a pleasure to see such an interesting house and to meet the owners. History brought to life.
