Das Museum war ohne ersichtlichen Grund geschlossen, obwohl ich mitten während der Öffnungszeiten (Donnerstag 12 Uhr) vor Ort war. Sehr schade, sah von außen eigentlich interessant aus.

beware that it is closed on Sundays. A very small museum but has very interesting exhibitions in it. Including machinery and the history of water management in Cyprus.

A small water museum that encloses a lot of history! The old water machine is the main attraction. The guided tour speaks about the history of water distribution throughout the years.

Kuten muidenkin matkailijoiden kertomuksissa myös meidän tapauksessa museo vaikutti suljetulta. Mutta käynti viereisessä vesilaitoksen rakennuksen info pisteellä auttoi saamaan henkilökunnan avaamaan museon oven. Saimme pikaisen opastuksen museoon, jonka jälkeen saimme vapaasti kiertää museon tiloissa.
Ulkona lämpötila kipusi 40 asteen tuntumaan, joten hyvin pian tulee selväksi museossa miksi vesi on tärkeä elementti. Meillä aikaa siellä vierähti tunnin verran.
Paikan parkkipaikka on pieni mutta saavuttaessa oikealla "peltoparkissa" on tilaa autolle. Paikka siis sijaitsee kaupunkialueella.
Käynnin aikana sisäänpääsymaksua ei peritty.

The museum appears shut when you first arrive but by calling the number on the door a lovely man will come and open for you and offer you a personalized tour (if you want one!) I visited with my husband - I am Cypriot and he is from the UK and we both found the tour informative and helpful - all our questions were answered satisfactorily. Visiting the museum and realizing the amount of work and energy required to have clean water on our taps is guaranteed to make you want to save water so it is definitely worth visiting!!
I am not sure if there is a fee to enter the museum but our guide let us in for free. He also gave us free orange juice and stickers at the end of the visit! :)

We visited the museum on 20 September. We asked at the Board office and a member of staff came to open up. As well as an interesting historical section, there were also several very exciting exhibits of ideas for improving the production of clean water, or using it more efficiently. These ideas had been put forward by school pupils taking part in an annual competition.
The member of staff who usually attends was on leave, and the stand-in didn't know much. However the exhibits are well explained in Greek and English. And he gave us some orange juice too.
We spent about an hour there.

The museum looked closed when we arrived - i was travelling with my 7yr old daughter, so we went into the water board and asked if it was closed. A quick phonecall later and a very pleasent gentleman came down and took us over to the museum.
Here he guided us through the history of the water pump in Limassol - how small this village was-less than 100yrs ago and how it has grown and along with that the increased need for water.
It was fascinating for both my daughter and myself, the guide was passionate about the museum and it showed.
We were there for over an hour and as the a/c was broken, we were generously given some orange juice. At the end, we were given a goodie-bag which was greatfully recieved.

Highly interesting, personal with a smile guide that went out of his way to make our visit .the best. We received cold organge juice drink and a bag full with goodies for the children, as courtesy of the museum

Музей небольшой, но достаточно интересный, мне кажется, особенно для младшего школьного возраста. 6-8 лет достаточно интересно, музей учит детей бережно относиться к окружающей среде.
