By far the best armor and weapons exhibit I have ever seen (and I have seen a bunch). It’s the historical armory of Graz and Styria - the original building. 32,000 pieces make it the world’s largest armor and weapons display. Even if you are only a moderate level medieval - renaissance history buff, the armory is a must and worth the cost of admission. The staff is super helpful and all local residents super proud of the history of their city and region represented here. I would definitely rate this as a must do in any Graz visit itinerary.

Since I wasn’t in Graz with my friends for long we just wanted to look at the most necessary and we thought this was a good option for us. However, we could have used our time a lot better than looking at some hard-to-interpret artwork. The entrance fee is also a lot too high.

One of the landmarks of Graz with impressive architecture, which yields many good photo motifs. There is currently a worth seeing exhibition on the subject of work with many video installations. Large and well stocked museum shop and attached café. We stayed on a Sunday where admission was free.

It is not uncommon for me to visit museums in different parts of the world and there is always a rough correspondence between the location of the museum and its display. For example, I do not expect to see in the ethnographic museum in Cetinje (Montenegro) what can be seen in the Museum of Modern Art in New York or the Prado Museum in Madrid. But what do I mean? The fact is that Kunsthaus is in the heart of Graz, Austria's second largest city, which claims to be the European Capital of Culture. The museum building itself is a challenge to everything that surrounds it and fascinates the imagination with its architecture against the backdrop of classic castles and palaces. With great enthusiasm and hope, I purchased a ticket and spent a long time trying to find something new or at least interesting among the museum's exhibits, but alas and ah. The exhibition was more like a student exhibition at the youth palace in Nizhny Tagil. I'm sure it would look a lot more organic in Nizhny Tagil.
To sum up, I can only recommend touring the museum outside and eating downstairs at the cafe, which has nice coffee and salads.

The Kunsthaus in Graz is characterized by its futuristic architecture, which makes a great impression in contrast to the old buildings in Graz. When we visited, there was Sol LeWitt's Wall. Also worth mentioning is the museum shop, which offers a wide range of products and is quite large in terms of space.

Great from the outside. Inside there was very little to see, so really quite disappointing. Guess I spent just under half an hour walking through the whole museum.

The Kunsthaus Graz is certainly one of the most striking sights in the city of Graz. This is due to the funky, amorphous appearance of the blue building. We found the contrast to the historic old town exciting, but the design probably won't appeal to everyone. Entry to the Museum of Contemporary Art is free for Graz Card holders, otherwise you pay €11. It is open daily except Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The external view is architecturally beautiful and gives the otherwise sweet old town flair a futuristic touch, giving Graz city centre a unique expression. The works of art on display are, however, at best student bar level and therefore the entrance fee of 11 euros is certainly not justified. The analyses and descriptions of the works used for interpretation take some getting used to and are macabre or non-existent, making it an act to even find out about the artist, quite different from other art exhibitions that one knows from other European art houses. I don't even want to start with the spelling mistakes in both German and English, let alone the lack of signs or demarcations for health protection from toxic materials. So it's more of a laugh for real art lovers, but definitely helpful for those interested as an introduction.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a word that can accurately describe the mediocrity of the so-called "art" that is displayed in this exhibition center . I will say though that this ugly building, from the outside, does allow for a nice view on the Schlossberg, and that the staff was very nice. The shop is not bad either.
