Very nice opera, I would suggest watching something. We went there for la cenerentola, which was amazing. Stage is big with crazy decorations and platforms. Orchestra is Nice also. Especially if you book early and from back seats you can find an opera ticket for 10-15 euros. Your location wouldn't be so good, there may be a column in front of you(you can see the image I attached) but still you would enjoy it. Average age of the audience is pretty high and most of the people are well dressed.

Younger musicians in a great performace. Or so it seemed, experienced conductor, stage direction, etc. Best of all, wonderful building, grandeur but not overloaded. The upstairs Café is mirrored and looks comfy, though ee did not order anything.

We visited the Graz Opera House while walking through the old town. It is located on the edge of the old town on the Opernring. The building is large and impressive and dates back to the K+K era.

One of the most beautiful opera houses in Austria! The second largest in the country! On the one hand, it brings the KuK era back to life and at the same time is equipped with a high technical standard with a height-adjustable full turntable! Very, very good acoustics! The Graz Opera is often a springboard for many artists and conductors! Very diverse program and an absolute experience! If you don't have time for an evening at the opera, at least a visit at 5 p.m. is a must!!! The café in the opera on the first floor invites you to linger!!!

Ein prachtvolles Gebäude welches sofort auffällt. In unmittelbarer Nähe vom Jakominiplatz und Stadtpark, also sehr gut zu erreichen.

Zgrada je podignuta 1899 godine u stilu neobaroka u samom centru grada, mada postojanje opere u ovom gradu datira jos iz 17 veka. Posle bečke opere, ovo je najveća opera u Austriji. Nismo imali prilike da udjemo unutra, obišli smo zgradu samo spolja.

Marriage of Figaro
Performance - average.
Seating - the worst I've experienced in an opera house.
Staff - average to poor.
Building inside - needs work, chipped paint all over the place.
Sound quality - average.
I was looking forward to the evening. I left after the first act! Overall very disappointing all round. Considering this is one of the first performances after lockdown it is totally unacceptable. I appreciate it is in Austria, no announcements in English. Even Belgrade is more "international".
I'd recommend not wasting your money, especially for top price seats. Riga still ranks #1 for smaller cities. Graz bottom of the league.

Ik had gelezen dat de opera van Graz erg mooi is. Daarom had ik vooraf aan ons weekend Graz een ticket geboekt voor een Celloconcert op zaterdagavond. Dan konden we ook meteen het operagebouw zien. De opera is inderdaad een schitterend gebouw en het concert was ook erg mooi. Een erg fijne besteding van onze zaterdagavond in Graz!
