Het huren van een fiets is praktisch onmogelijk. Eerst moet je registreren en daarna wordt er een pin gestuurd om te activeren. Deze pin via je 06 komt echter nooit. Met drie mensen geprobeerd met 0 resultaat. Levert veel negatieve energie op! Overal staan de fietsen ook in de rekken en zie je eigenlijk niemand er op rijden. De ontwikkelaars hebben er echt een potje van gemaakt.
Dan maar een OV kaart voor €5,60 voor een hele dag.

De website Citybikewien.at is vanuit Nederland niet bereikbaar! Hij doet het niet. Hopelijk lukt het vanuit Wenen wel om een account aan te maken.

I think it took me all of an hour to make this work between a laptop and several downloads to my iPhone, sitting on a bench in a sweltering steet (37C) (nb I am a Professor of Computer Science). The problem is that there are 3 distinct apps and they never explain how they are related or indeed work together: cityBike vienna, WienMobile and nextbike. The citybike seems to have been superceded by the nextbike thing but they are still using the former names, but you end up being bumped to the latter (tho via laptop you can register on WienMobile (which is actually really a sort of GoogleMaps for vienna transport rather than the bike app proper). Confused? Well I was. After working on it all for hours I finally got in and rented a bike. After that is was a dream. Main drawback is that there are not many collection points across the city, so when you want to return the bike, you have to detour to a rack that may be far from where you want to finish.

Momenteel uit service. De website ligt eruit. In Wenen zelf kan je wel een fiets pakken en je account activeren. Vanuit buitenland lukt t niet.

I love, love, love the City Bike system in Wien!
And no need to worry if you're out of the country. Debit cards and credit cards work just fine.
To ride for free, You can bike for 59 minutes, return the bike to ANY docking station wait 15 minutes and then pick any other bike up again to continue. If you go over 1 hour it's 1 euro, 2 hours is 2 euros all the way to 4.
Then the prices go up significantly.
That's the only catch.
I would highly recommend for anyone coming in from out of the country and especially if living there.

ständige Fehler bei Rückgabe mit riesigen Strafen. jede zweite Fahrt kann man nicht bei ersten Versuch Fahrrad zusperren. es gibt gar kein App um zu schauen ob Rückgabe erfolgt

Wir haben während unseres Aufenthaltes in Wien zweimal ein City-Bike ausgeliehen. Beim ersten Mal muss man eine Anmeldungsprozedur durchlaufen, ab dem zweiten Mal funktioniert das einfach traumhaft schnell und einfach: Kreditkarte einlegen, Passwort (Nicht die Pin der Kreditkarte!) eingeben, Fahrrad auswählen und los geht's.
Unsere erste Tour war aus der Innenstadt zum Schloß Schönbrunn (ca. 40 Minuten). Beim zweiten Mal sind wir ca. eine Stunde bei strahlendem Sonnenschein die Donau entlang gefahren: Ein sehr gemütlicher und schöner Weg.
Da Wien wirklich so ist, wie Obelix die Schweiz beschreibt ("Flach!"), kommt man problemlos voran und die Dreigangschaltung ist völlig ausreichend. Sehr gut bewährt haben sich auch die vor dem Lenker montierten Fahrradkörbe: Ich als doofer Tourist habe da jeweils mein Handy rein gelegt, so daß die Navigation von Google Maps gut sichtbar war.
Klarer Verbesserungsvorschlag: Es wäre wünschenswert, mehrere Fahrräder auf eine Person zu entleihen. Aktuell muss sich jeder separat und mit einer eigenen Kreditkarte anmelden

Prima om Wenen op de fiets te verkennen. Goede fietspaden die duidelijk zijn gemarkeerd. Fiets gebruik is makkelijk. Ik had mijn gegevens thuis al vie hun web site ingevuld. In Wenen hoefde ik alleen mijn kaart te activeren. Wijst zich allemaal vanzelf hoe en wat te doen bij lenen en inleveren van de fiets. Let op: vergeet niet je kaart uit de automaat te halen! Het eerste uur is gratis. Omdat het centrum van Wenen redelijk te overzien is kan je dus, mitsdien je de fiets inlevert binnen het uur, gratis fietsen. Wil je weer verder: na 15 minuten is de fiets weer voor een uur (gratis) beschikbaar. Doen!

Citybike non sono altro che le bici pubbliche di Vienna. Il servizio offerto è ottimo, con diversi punti dove poter ritirare e riconsegnare la bici ad un prezzo quasi nullo. Infatti la prima ora è solitamente gratis, poi 1€ all’ora.
Chiaramente la bici è molto pesante, quindi poco indicata per viaggi troppo impegnativi. Dopo le 2-3 consiglierei di noleggiare un altro tipo di bici.
Per quanto riguarda la registrazione, se fatta in loco può essere davvero lunga e noiosa, con una carta di credito diversa richiesta per ogni user differente.
Chiaramente la bici è molto pesante, quindi poco indicata per viaggi troppo impegnativi. Dopo le 2-3 consiglierei di noleggiare un altro tipo di bici.
Per quanto riguarda la registrazione, se fatta in loco può essere davvero lunga e noiosa, con una carta di credito diversa richiesta per ogni user differente.

Hemos utilizado este sistema en varias ciudades y sigue pareciéndonos una muy buena y bonita manera de conocer las ciudades.
Como puntos positivos: mucho carril bici, muchas estaciones con abundantes bicis, gratis (solo pagas 1€ al darte de alta)
Como puntos negativos/a mejorar: hace falta tarjeta de crédito y solo puedes alquilar una bici por tarjeta (por lo que niños u otras personas sin tarjeta de crédito no pueden usar este servicio). Este sistema es gratis durante la primera hora, luego debes dejar la bici y coger una nueva durante otra hora, pero si dejas la bici antes de tiempo tienes que esperar a que se caduque la hora para poder coger otra bici. En otras ciudades conforme dejas una bici ya puedes coger la siguiente lo cual te permite mucha más movilidad.
Como puntos positivos: mucho carril bici, muchas estaciones con abundantes bicis, gratis (solo pagas 1€ al darte de alta)

I've got one credit card and would like to rent 2 bikes in the same time during our 4 days stay in Wienn.
where can i buy/pick up these 2 cards that let me rent these bikes ?

bonjour, pouvez vous m'en dire plus sur la gratuité du vélo? j'ai été sur le site city bike mais mon anglais est limité lol du coup je ne comprends pas tout! j'avais vu qu'il fallait inséré sa carte bancaire sur place mais comment avoir la gratuité pendant une heure?
