Very special neighborhood created by this Austrian painter, sculptor, architect, ecologist that we did not know. Interesting character to study and deepen. The neighborhood and commercial village, fun and colorful invites you to spend a pleasant break in a different area of this beautiful city.

Honest and respectful down to earth art of excellent quality. Should certainly not be inferior to the exuberant glitz of the lavish baroque and neo architecture in the cityscape. Hundertwasser is a breath of fresh air in the decadent glamour.

On the top floor a temporary exhibition on wood, forests, trees and their importance.
On the lower floors the history and the works of the artist, who had as a reference center the important respect for sweatshirt nature by man.
Multifaceted artist (architect, painter, sculptor) Viennese unknown to us before the visit to Vienna. Davvero una gran bella scoperta!

Many folks know of the Hundertwasser House - but this is the place that is a museum of much of his work - painting, silk screens, architecture. And a ton of info on his philosophy and ideas. Fascinating - one of the more interesting artists/architects that I've ever seen. His concepts and viewpoint were striking.

I've been twice, but I always like to bring people for the first time to see and enjoy Hundertwasser's paintings and the ambiance of the museum itself. After the tour, I always buy ginger tea in a box that imitates the building itself. And, of course, coffee in the beautiful garden of the museum.I always visit the Hundertwasser house, which is a few blocks away (where people actually live) and across the street the Hundertwasser village, an old factory that has been converted into a souvenir shop in the style of Hundertwasser himself.

Fascinating visit that made me discover a great artist that I was not aware of, Hundertwasser. A visionary, talented painter, architect and probably philosopher. The museum is very well done, full of breathtaking paintings. The building itself captures the essence of Hundertwasser’s philosophy and style, in stark contrast with the ordinary, austere buildings of Viena. The café is delightful. Must do!

We knew nothing about this artist and decided to go on a whim on our last day in
Vienna (when we were on Hapsburg overload). So glad we did! The artist was way ahead of his time in terms of the environment and living in nature. Plus his work is beautiful! I think this building has recently been renovated and reopened so don't mind the older reviews. Tour this museum and then walk down the street to the Hundertwasserhaus. The cafe was great too!

A very nice museum which provides an overview of paintings made by Hundertwasser, his impressive biography and some pieces of art (architecture model), all very colourfull. The museum is rather small so you probably will spend at the most 1 hour. There is also a very nice café downstairs. A few streets away one can see the Hundertwasserhaus, with its amazing facade. An iconic building of Vienna not to be missed.

Fascinating museum devoted to the works of Hundertwasser. We particularly liked his designs for bookbindings and buildings. Great fun to walk around this building with its undulating floors and mosaic decorations. Sadly we didn't get to see much of the temporary exhibition as the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate the building. So we were very glad we had visited the main galleries first!

Dear roncheseelena,
the KUNST HAUS WIEN - Museum Hundertwasser is the only place where you can see Hundertwassers architecture from outside AND explore his architecture from the inside (uneven walls, colourful tiles, his biological purification plant...) The Hundertwasser Museum exhibits the worldwide largest collection of his paintings, original prints, tapestries and architectural designs (2 floors).
Entrance tickets are € 11,- (Museum Hundertwasser) and € 12,- (Combo ticket). Students are granted a reduction: € 9,- (Museum Hundertwasser) and € 10,- (Combo Ticket).
Attention: The KUNST HAUS WIEN - Museum Hundertwasser is a Museum, whereas the Hundertwasserhaus is a public housing project with private apartments. Hundertwasserhaus has a wonderful facade and offers great views from the outside. We suggest to walk there after a visit at our Museum (it´s a 5 minutes walk, Adress: Löwengasse 41).
