I made a last minute decision to purchase a ticket for The Phantom of the Opera. While the show itself was fantastic, I think it's important to point out a couple of things about this theatre for anyone thinking of going.
There are a lot of pillars in the theatre, which restric the view from many seats, not just the ones that have the lowest price. I sat in the wrong seat at first by mistake, and I was really disappointed. My correct seat had a much better view, but it was actually cheaper than the first seat I had sat in. In the seating chart, the pillars are represented by black dots, but I don't feel that the theatre is upfront about how many of the seats have a restricted view. Also, the subtitles are very difficult to read. They are on screens at either side of the stage and the text was unclear, almost like it was projected out of focus. It was too small and I was unable to read most of it.
The photo I've attached was from the more expensive seat I sat in by mistake... it was row 8, seat 24 in the first circle. I think this seat was on sale for around €90.

The musical "The Phantom of the Opera" was great staged, the singers breathtaking and the stage technique stunning. Unfortunately, there is a lack of framework conditions. We arrived an hour before and had to wait outside despite pouring rain and storm. When we used the entrance at the bar to insinuate ourselves, we were rather unkindly advised that we had to consume something here. And until about half an hour before the start of the performance we had to wait standing. The seats in the theatre are not exactly comfortable, but very tight and offer virtually no legroom.

The theatre has just been renovated. Nevertheless, the air conditioner fights the heat without a chance. Moreover, the architect must have allowed himself a joke about the toilets: In the 2. Rank there is just one men's cabin and five pissoirs. These without partitions, but with huge mirrors, so that you can really show your best piece to everyone around. Including the waiting ladies.

The musical "Phantom of the Opera" was sensational. Unfortunately, the seating was a disaster. My husband has long legs and was only able to sit completely squashed. After the break, he wanted to move (standing room) but was not allowed to. The staff asked him to go back to his seat or leave the building. Really cheeky.

The musical we went to was simply fantastic. I don't want to rate that here either.
The view from our seats was very limited, however. We sat in the first row on the second tier. Unfortunately, you could only see a small part of the stage. The seats were also very narrow. Your knees were completely squashed. We knew that there might be limited visibility, but we didn't imagine it would be nearly as bad.
We will definitely go to Vienna again and then we will book better seats.

Visited this theatre whilst in Vienna. I was not at all disappointed. Spotlessly clean with a true cosmopolitan feel. The staff speak both German and English so the language barrier does not present itself.
The theatre is relatively small but this merely adds to the atmosphere.
A bar with both internal and external tables offers the theatre goer pre and post performance aperfifs.
Now for the show. Das Phantom of Der Opera. This is the first time the production has been performed in German and it was fantastic. The cast were magnificent and the stage lended itself superbly to a wonderful performance.
The theatre afforded the audience and the cast an intimate not to be forgotten experience ordinarily reserved for larger venues. Credit to the set and costume designers in what was an elaborate but perfectly timed set performance.
If you happen to find yourself in Vienna and you are seeking a good night at the theatre then look no further than the Raimund.

Very bad theater.
No air-conditioning in summer and unfortunately if you sitting back there is no way to see.
Also no way you can see the subtittles ...Far away and at a wrong place....
Waste of money.

Ich bin kein Musical-Fan, aber ab und zu muss man eben doch mal reingehen. Ich bin auch jetzt kein Musical-Fan - aber die Aufführung ("Rebecca") war sehr professionell durchgeführt, die Technik war beeindruckend. Von daher: das Theater ist top!!!

Of course, it'' be better to book VIP, because there won't people in front of you and you can watch for orchestra.
