Thought we had seen the best of the beaches around Perth but Mullaroo was an amazing find !
A couple of Aussie friends who live in nearby Iluka took us by car to see a local piece of coastline . Absolutely stunning beach with only a relatively small number of sunbathers .
Definitely worth spending some time here !

I absolutley love this beach!! Visited lots of beaches around Perth and this is definitkey one of my favourites. The water and sand are perfect and there are cafes across the road. Lifeguarded so safe for families and perfect to spend a good few hours here.

A calm and quiet beach about 35-45 minutes north of Perth. I visited on a Sunday morning and found it mostly empty. The sand is gorgeous and the water really is that colour! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a quieter beach to visit. There are cafes and restaurants nearby though they are near the south end of the beach.

The beach is clean and a great swimming beach. It has a great grassed area for picnics with a great view.

Mullaloo Beach is famous for its pristine white sand and gentle waves. Mullaloo is regarded as a safe beach for families, the beach is patrolled by the Mullaloo Surf Life Saving Club from October to April. Mullalloo is 26 km (16 miles) from Perth, it's a developing northern suburb.

Mullaloo Beach has fine white sand and gentle waves, making it a great place for a family picnic. The beach is on the northern outskirts of Perth, but it is an easy drive these days. Mullaloo Beach has been a popular outing for Perth people for many years.

There are several beach accesses along the Oceanside Promenade. You can park your car at Tom Simpson Park and at the City of Joondalup Westview and Key West parking stations. There are also car parks along the Oceanside Promenade but, as this beach is very popular, on weekends it is not easy to find parking and therefore someone parks along the side streets. Access to the beach is an easy walk on the sand and the northern part is the one we prefer not only because it is less crowded, but also because of the presence of a rocky layer at the base of the dunes. Although the strip of sand becomes thinner and thinner going north and sometimes the wave reaches the rocks, it is pleasant to walk along this stretch and observe the small arches and holes from which you can take pictures that are different from the usual ones taken on the beach. The sand is white and fine and especially in the evening it can be swept by the wind, while the sea invites you to swim also because the waves here are usually small and suitable for everyone. An excellent beach for everyone including families.

Mullaloo Beach is a long way north of Perth. The beach has pristine white sand and gentle waves. Mullaloo is now on the suburban fringes of Perth, it's come a long way since we first went there 50 years ago. Then, you gained access to the beach via a pot-holed track. Mullaloo is a fine place for a family day out. The water is inviting and it's a good picnic spot.

In days gone by, we would pack up a picnic lunch and drive over unmade roads to Mullaloo Beach. These days it will take you around 30 minutes in light traffic to make the 26 km (17 mile) trip to Mullaloo Beach from Perth. The beach is still beautiful. It is patrolled by the Mullaloo Surf Lifesaving Club from October to April. In the language of the Aboriginal people, Mullaloo is said to mean "place of the rat kangaroo."

Hi, I believe you are able to put up a shade / gazebo etc on the grassed area or the sand but camping is prohibited.

I think if you want to guarantee a certain spot and make it exclusive for your party then a permit is a good idea, however if you just want to have a bit of a small gathering without exact constraints of where at the beach then you can just head over.

Hi,Mullalloo beach itself is not dog friendly,however just north of Mullaloo on the corner of Whitfords Avenue and Flinders Avenue is a designated Dog beach with its own designated car park.You can walk your dogs on leashes along the coastal path however.
