There are a lot of interesting exhibits and it is definitely worth a visit. I could not honestly say that it will keep you occupied for hours but with its eclectic content there will be some interest for many. There is no theme as such that you can follow so you will wander around from topic to topic. Like many museums, there is little for young children and I would not expect there to be so I would advise against using it as a rainy day activity for them.

This free exhibition in above the tourist information is worth half an hour of everyone's time. A little local history spread over 3 floors that can't be found elsewhere.

What a brilliant garden, hidden amongst the towns old buildings.

Lovely properties, with lots of fascinating and well described exhibits.
Lovely to learn that they have no entry charge too.

Friendly museum close to the harbour that is well worth a short visit. There are exhibits over four floors showing various aspects of the history of Poole from the very earliest times. Not too much information overload but enough to get your interest going in certain areas and make you want to go away and find out more. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a small gift shop and tourist information desk by the entrance and a cafe on the top floor. There also seemed to be a few activities for kids. There are toilets and a lift to all floors.

Visited Poole on a wet and windy morning, hoping the museum would keep us dry as well as entertained for an hour or so. One of our friends has mobility issues so the lift serving all floors was ideal. Started at the café on the top floor (nice terrace for good weather) and worked our way downstairs. Each floor was packed full of interesting exhibits and plenty of info on Poole's history, with a nice gift shop on the ground floor. Well worth a visit!

Lots of great exhibits, social history and old Poole Pottery.
Accessible to any in a wheelchair as there is a lift to all public floors.

We were looking around the quayside area and came across this museum so decided to venture in. The staff were very helpful and straight away told us the cafe was shut today. The museum was over 4 floors and very informative for us visiting the town today . It’s surprising what you can learn from these places and it was free warm , you can make a donation after your visit if you like. It’s is well worth the visit to learn the history of the area from the past to present.

Free admission.
Poole museum has multiple levels of art and historical pieces all with local ties. Very interesting pieces and information boards to read. The cafe has a lovely view of the tiw an harbour. Soya milk available.Toilets available.
Scaplen's Court was a lovely piece of history and features a small but pretty garden.

HI can l bring a small dog with us in to the museum ,

I'm not sure either. It seems though that Poole is dog friendly. A lot of shops have water bowls outside for our canine friends.
