17 family members from 10yrs - 78yrs booked all 3 escape rooms in the Chelmsford branch as part of my husbands surprise birthday celebrations.
We were greeted by Ryan who was really lovely & we all had a fabulous time.
A few of us had never done this before but it made us want to do it again.
Eddie also came to greet us even though it was his birthday.

First experience of an escape room. We weren’t the best participants so luckily we were fed a few clues to help us along. Mainly 10-11 year olds. Issue I had with the place, the waiting room, you can’t get there early and wait in the waiting room. When people come out the escape room they may give away the experience. We had to wait out in the lobby which was untidy, full of old building materials, old post and junk. The toilet was grubby and the dustbin was overflowing. Clean up your entrance and toilets - it’ll make a better impression.

I went with my boyfriend, and we loved it! The game is really well designed.
I just didn't like the place outside, it's really dark, and made me doubt about if we should really go.
If you love escape rooms, or don't know what it is, this is a really good one to start with.
We actually are going to do another one right away.

Thankyou So much Eddie! We all really had a great time! The puzzles were very carefully crafted out and challenging 😊 It’s ideal for every age and every type of person in the family! What an amazing start to my brothers 21st Birthday celebrations 👏🏻😇🏆🙌🏻🕰️

When we arrived, 10 mins before our time as requested, there was nobody here. The unit was locked & nobody was around. We called the number, which was answered straight away, & they told us someone would be with us soon. Having paid for 3 teens to go in I was sceptical & worried that we’d been scammed. Eventually someone arrived who had to open up & set up our experience. Taking more valuable time. Eventually the party went into their room around 10 mins late.
I was disappointed that it wasn’t open when we arrived which made me anxious. The email asks us to arrive 10 mins early & states that if we’re late, no extra time will be given! So I feel they should make the effort to be ready for their customers.
Once inside the whole set up seemed very professional.
The girls enjoyed their experience very much (escaping in about 51 minutes) They said they had a great time & would definitely like to try some of the other rooms on offer in the future.

We did the taken escape room as a family of 4 and we loved it. The set was dingy which went with the theme and the game master was brilliant in giving us clues when we needed it! We were all very surprised towards the end (don't want to give the game away)... We didn't make it out in time but we were very close!

I visited Bust Out last year for my daughter's 12th birthday when her and her friends did the Taken Room and our experience was great! Yesterday we visited with friends and did the Hijacked Game, but unfortunately our experience was very different yesterday. Our host wasn't as enthusiastic as the girl who hosted us last time, the game was far too difficult for a bunch of 13yr olds (and I'd stipulated when I emailed Tiff at the time of booking that it was for under 16s) and our host didn't give decent clues, given the difficulty of the game and the age of the participants (even with one adult accompanying the kids). Please can you make a point of flagging difficult games at the time of booking as this would have made a difference. Either that, or have your host be more enthusiastic and give better clues, if they see that kids are struggling. They are only 13 and came out quite deflated.

We had an excellent time today! Thank you so much for the “Taken” experience! It was well thought out and put together. Staff were also friendly and full of fun 🤩. Would definitely recommend!!

Is this suitable for children?
Whilst there is no age restriction, our games have been designed for adults and we would generally recommend players to be aged 12 and older. Younger children may find the experience too challenging but are welcome to play the game accompanied with adults (aged 16+). Please note that children aged 8 and over will be charged the standard rate.
