Dreadful staff again what a shame English Heritage have no idea what good customer service is. Shocking rude girl laughed in cafe when I asked for a refund as I preferred crockery to paper cups - manager standing next to her! It was not closing time - we had waited on Mother’s Day for over half an hour - she gave crockery to person in front -
Come on English heritage / it’s about time you hired people who don’t think they own the place and actually like people! Get your act together
This incident is consistent with many years of bad service from their staff at Audley End in particular!

The views here are so wonderful . You can enter this big Palace and walk around and take photos of what it Was like back in history. You can even go into the pavilion which you can go up and down on theese little hidden stairs which takes you into a room . The gift shop was pretty good and prices are reasonable for majority of things. We took a picnic and it felt nice to sit and eat while looking at natural nature

We travelled especially to 'Make history at Wrest Park' with our 8YO who has a real interest in archeology.
The advert suggested Historical performers, buried relics, Roman archeology, artefacts and weapons. The advert also suggested Historical hijinks and hands-on shenanigans which for the pricey sum of £41 included the house and gardens.
We excitedly went straight to the orangery to indulge ourselves in this time team of historical information and were disappointed in what we experienced.
There were three tubs on the ground with play and and a 2 inch paint brush, not exactly a challenge or an insight into archeology. Some well rubbed coins on a board, and crayons with some limited information and a Roman helmet. We asked the 'archeologist' in the high viz jacket and he said he was a fraud and worked with schools, so not sure where the hijinks and shenanigans went, possibly had the day off with the non existent performers. Considering the cost of living crisis, I felt mugged to be honest as the advertising did suggest a lot more that what was delivered. You could probably buy a decent history book, get some old coins off eBay and buy a tub and sand from Wilkinsons for less than we had to paid.

We spent much longer here than we thought we would! It is quite big with lots of little bits to see as you walk around. There is a good play park for the kids and lots of outdoor seating at the cafe too. Would highly recommend.

We loved the stories and puzzles for the kids, the autumnal garden and of course the house, though the upper rooms were not open to the public. Also nice was our lunch and the choice of goods in the shop!

Great value for money, very knowledgeable and helpful staff, brilliant place to walk. Good café, with a good range of food and well stocked shop. Looking forward to going back soon.

Took me family of 4 to wrest Park today for the ghost hunting and beano halloween trial. I have 2 daughters 1 is turning 3 end of month other has just turned 8. They could not have enjoyed their day more. Fresh air safe environment fantastic actors telling spooky stories. I would suggest anyone with a young family to give this a chance. Cafe on site with great friendly staff kids bags available too. Well done to everyone involved thank you for a great family day full of making memories.

We visited Wrest Park on a journey north. We were fortunate to join a 1pm Garden Tour of the grounds with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteer. The rain stopped and the sun came out just as we stared the Tour. Wonderful colours in the Parterre borders and beautiful parkland. The history of the house is unfolded in rooms within the grand property. No furniture is left given several changes of use. Just a note for English Heritage. Some of the artefacts inset in display cases have notes so small they are very difficult to read given the subdued light. Pleasant staff. Cafe and gift shop so we bought some items for gifts anticipating the festive season

Only a few largely unfurnished ground floor rooms of the house are open to public, although there is also an exhibition about the history of the house and inhabitants through the ages. It won’t take you long to look around these before you move onto the grounds and gardens. The grounds are the real jewel of Wrest Park. Pick up a leaflet at the admission desk to make sure you don’t miss anything and then go and explore. Highlights include the Archer Pavilion at the end of the Long water, the Chinese Temple and Bridge, the Italian and Rose Gardens, the Orangery and the French Parterre. There are lots of other statues and buildings to discover and even a pet cemetery. Ample free parking, gift shop, café, and toilets. I bought a sandwich and drink at the café and took it to the gardens to eat as it was such a lovely day, but you could also bring a picnic. Staff were very helpful. Allow half a day to see everything.

A beautiful house and grounds. We were warmly welcomed, the children enjoyed the playpark, walking around the house and grounds. Some lovely woodland areas too.

you would have to double check with Wrest Park itself... there was a small camper van in the car park one day but the car park is closed overnight and all day Monday and Tuesday... and the walled garden gate height to enter the car park is taller than normal but not that tall!

Yes dogs are aloud in the grounds on a lead. We could also take him into the cafe but that was before lockdown.

Thanks very much for your enquiry. Unfortunately we do not allow bicycles in the grounds. This includes childrens bicycles with pedals. We do, however, allow unmotorised children's scooters or tricyles that have a parent handle attached.

Can you get vegan food in the cafe?

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the availability of vegan food in our cafe. This is an area we are developing with our Spring/Summer menu. Currently the soup available is vegan and there are a variety of vegetarian options available such as sandwiches, cheese and onion pasties and vegetarian bread pudding, as well as a variety of cakes including a vegan chocolate cake. Our café menu changes regularly and we are always looking to provide more options.
