Local, and relatively cheap. That's where the positives end.
Uncomfortable seating, and very poor soundproofing. If you are watching a film that's mostly dialogue, you will hear sounds from other screens. Or any groups congregating at the reception will be clearly heard in adjoining screens.
Pay little and you get what you pay for.

We took our Cub Pack to learn about the history of Folkestone cinema and had a 'behind the scenes' tour of the projection room. Chris and Daisy fielded all the Cubs' questions incredibly well and were so patient with us, arranging refreshments and laying on a couple of fun short films for that full cinema experience. We had a fantastic time, thank you!

Super independent cinema, just seen The Batman (good film but an hour too long!). Friendly staff, great priced tickets and snacks. Much better than Odeon and the other big chains!

Visited today with my 2 young children 6&4. My eldest is autistic an it was our first family trip to the cinema. I cannot praise the lovely staff ! I wish I got names but the gentleman who went out of his way to give my children the original cinema tickets after explaining that this was my childhood cinema was amazing! They were so excited it made it even special for them both. The cinema is a lovely family environment an I cannot wait to take my children back. Thank you too all the lovely staff that made a memorable visit for my children.

I've been going to Folkestone Cinema since I was a child and I now appreciate it more than ever. When you visit the large chain cinema's you have to endure hours of adverts and trailers, at Folkestone cinema this is kept to a minimum. It also had a real old school charm and character, with a good view of the screen's. Please support your local cinema or we will lose it forever.

We love coming to the Silver Screen Cinema whenever there is a film we want to see. Although small, it is nice to be close to the screen with an excellent view for a much cheaper price than chain cinemas. Sadly it cannot show all films at the cinema due to only two screens, they have a large variety suiting all genres. Definitely worth visiting if you want a cheap day out.

A beautifully maintained retro cinema, spotless too~ staff obviously care, are always friendly & smiling. The gorgeous rouge decor makes you feel cocooned on the comfortable seating, which you can choose, & prices excellent £VFM. Shows the latest films. Recently visited for 'Once Upon...' (Ohhhhh. Brad Pitt!), the big screen visual quality & surround were tip~top. I'm also a member of the Silver Screen Club, Thursday mornings, great place to meet up with fellow film enthusiasts. Please continue to support your local cinema, or we will lose it.

The operation has a lovely charm to it and I would hate to see it replaced with a multi-national cinema complex with no character. It's local, it's friendly, it has current films and is excellent value for money - long live Folkestone Silver Screen!
