One of the best bookshops in Hay (if you’re into crime, thriller and horror books). The interior and exterior are really well themed. The first room has loads of hidden gems. Be careful on the stairs, very steep/wobbly but some newer releases up there at good prices.

As the name suggests a shop specialising in crime and murder books. Smaller than other bookshops in Hay with some steep stairs to the upstairs crime section. If you’re into the horror genre in particular worth a visit

Usually a regular of this quirky shop however very disappointing today (Saturday 12 November) that the member of staff was very disinterested in helping and appeared to have little knowledge of the contents of the shop. Such a shame as the last lady who served me was so knowledgable and friendly.

Quirky and themed decor in small bookshop that is packed full of twists, murder and thrillers. Great book selection if this is your genre.

Interesting and unique bookshop specializing in crime and horror. Whilst the store may be small, it's packed with a comprehensive range to satisfy these genres.
Staff was friendly, and very covid aware, which helped us feel very comfortable.
Would recommend.

Murder and Mayhem *made* our trip to Hay on Wye. I have an Agatha Christie-mad near- tween, and the smashing shopkeeper was indulgent, welcoming, fun and friendly. Even on day 5! ;) This is the place to go for ALL your mystery and murder fiction (and fact, in fact). There's every sub-genre you can wish for - it's the perfect dark-heaven for those so-inclined. Thank you, M&M!

Visited this bookshop last Saturday and had a fantastic experience! Shop owner was really friendly and helpful and this shop was full of murder, crime, thriller and mystery books and was decorated with a spooky Halloween theme throughout. Books were also reasonably priced.

This was the first shop I stepped foot in when arriving to Wales. I was so excited because this store was filled with books in my favorite genre. Murder and Crime. As a kick off to autumn and all things spooky I was planning on purchasing a few books covering recent serial killers I have learned about in the UK. I was filming for YouTube and taking pics to write an article on how cool this bookshop seemed, when, only being in the shop for probably not even a minute, the owner started being rude to me. He continually made comments at me that books aren’t for filming they are for reading. Shaking his head as if he was so disgusted in me. He continued to be so rude and started creating a scene so much that other shoppers started starring. This made me a bit embarrassed because I have nothing but a love for books. I actually wanted to promote how interesting and cool this shop was and was going to support it by purchasing books. (YES PLURAL) I ended up walking almost running out because of how he was treating me. There are so many other really interesting bookshops in this town check those out instead. Thank you shop owner for completely ruining the experience. I’ll be sure my videos and articles reflect your kindness.
